Quinta do Vallado

Vinha da Granja Douro Red Blend 2018

Extremely balanced black fruits, licorice, vanilla and tons of milk chocolate. Rounded tannins. Just a really nice drop. Best dry red on the Portuguese trip. — 2 years ago

Prima Douro Moscatel Galego Branco 2020

This was dope. What a surprise for muscatel. Dry, lemon, lime, so great. — 4 years ago

Quinta do Vallado

Douro Touriga Nacional 2014

Deep purple color fading to black in the center of the glass. Floral nose with spices and black fruits and a hint of smoke. Black cherries with plums and spices laced with a hint of vanilla. Well integrated oak announcing tannins that have arrived to maturity. The tasting notes for 2023 were very accurate as to where this vintage was heading and I’m glad I have 2 more bottles. Next one will be served with the lamb or dry aged prime rib this wine deserves. — 4 months ago

Quinta do Vale Meão

Meandro Douro Red Blend 2018

Bright purple. Clearly more uptoned than the Quinta do Vallado Superior I had alongside. This is nicely balanced midweight young Douro. Raspberries, granberries red currants and cherry, some strawberry maybe on the background. This jumps nicely out of the glass and nose is far more expressive at this stage. Pop next about 4-5 years from now and you have a treat. Great stuff! — 5 years ago

Quinta Do Orgal

Vallado Organic Vineyards Douro Superior Red Blend 2018

Just what I expect from Douro red. This has plenty of blackberry, some plum, ripe cherry, earthy notes and disty tannins. There is oak on the surface but the depth of fruit tells it will be integrated in 2-3 years of time. Great wine if you like bit darker side of Douro — 5 years ago
