Great acidity. Italian Sancere — 2 months ago
It is time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday. Let's bring Merlot back!
Deep purple in color with a wide reddish rim.
Beautiful nose of sweet cherries, black plums, blueberries, Indian spices, cedar, licorice, chocolates, herbs, light earth, black pepper, tobacco and light black tea.
Full-bodied and elegant with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with cooked cherries, currants, plums, spices, cedar, licorice, light vanilla, tobacco leaf, herbs, peppercorn, earth, dark chocolates and black coffee.
Long finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.
This delicious 8-year-old Merlot from Napa Valley is drinking beautifully now. Elegant and fruit forward. Soft and complex.
Needs an hour in the decanter to open up properly and show the complexity. Will continue to age nicely in the next few years.
Nicely balanced and spicy with a soft mouthfeel. I had this vintage a few times before, and it is always tasty.
Good by itself as a sipping wine, and paired nicely with the Italian beef Prosciutto.
A blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon.
14.4% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

Concur with the WS review below, although I dropped my score one point and would add that the wine presently requires hours of natural aeration—no less than four in the bottle! We tested the use of a Vinturi, which produced unsatisfactory results. Perhaps decanting would take less time. Paired with pistachio crusted rack of lamb.
WS: 92. A fragrant and elegant red, delivering tuberose, strawberry, cherry and grassy aromas and flavors. Taut and balanced, with bright floral and red fruit notes gracing the lingering finish. Best from 2024 through 2038. 375 cases made, 150 cases imported. — 10 days ago
This full bodied white is made from the Falanghina grape - the main grape of Campania. Golden yellow in colour. Aromatics of mouldy apple and fresh herbs. Fermentation takes place in 70% stainless steel and 30% barrique which is the perfect oak influence for this wine I believe. I have previous Delectable notes for the 2018 vintage. A good white for when the weather cools down. — 4 months ago
Weisse blüten, geschmeidig, leicht buttrig, pfirsich, akazie, buchsbaum, leicht mitschi. Grosser wein! — 4 days ago
This Vineyard is located on land confiscated from the Mafia.
A hint of blackberries and an aroma of black pepper. A touch of minerals with balanced acidity. Taste of blackberry and a hint of coconut.

This is flagship Cabernet Sauvignon from Alta Nova Vinyards in Napa Valley, CA. a masterpiece from a female winemaker, Britt Richards who has the finesse of vinifying wines from myriad California terroirs (mostly mountains). Electrifying aromas of black forrest, leaves, earth and graphite. It makes an opening to the palate with punchy tannins, elevated but not overpowering acidity and silky, very silky tannins. Polyphenols are super-balanced, it can challenge any mountain-like heavy Cab from Napa as a great contender. Loved the elegant finish. Needs to open for over 2 hours to appreciate its potential and savory notes.

Paired with brisket. Yum! Better the second day; give it some time to open. — 5 months ago

Tasted 2012 vintage. Pale yellow. Nice toasty, yeasty notes on the nose. Tasty layers of yeasty almond with citrus zest continuing into the long finish. Very nice, with a vibrant acidity balancing the mellow brioche flavors, but bubbles are not as persistent as they are with some sparkling wines. — 6 days ago
