The 2021 Rosso di Montalcino wafts up with a mentholated freshness, hauntingly dark florals and crushed blackberries. It's round and supple, with ripe red fruits, licorice, bitter balsamic and cooling acidity. A sweet spice flourish emerges toward the close. $22.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous March 2024) — 3 months ago

Brought this back from Italy in 2015, finally enjoying — 6 days ago
This was a gratuitous pairing favoring a more impressive wine over the right wine. Paired with grilled chicken and lemon polenta over a sliced onion pan sauce. Bordering garnet. Lots of pruney, stewed fruit pointing to a hot vintage (15.5% abv.)
Ripe and spicy tobacco, leather, and fig jam. From magnum and ready to drink. 750’s likely on the decline. Sustainable. — a month ago
