Very quaffable! — 6 months ago
From 50+ year old (and even some 150+ year old old pre-phylloxera) vines. A really intriguing wine that needs food. Intense tannins + high acid that find their balance. Aromatic w/ lacquer (helloooo VA, but just enough to add a needed little lift), pepper steak, black plum, violet, cinnamon, paraffin, smoke. All of that plus a lingering exotic spice on the palate. Ideally paired with something rustic and fatty (we settled for lentils). Good winter warmer. — 9 months ago

Earthy, terroir nose. Opened nicely. Palette- enjoyable , long finish, medium tannins . After one hour, improved, earthiness is a nice change from Napa cabs. — 2 years ago
