This has California written all over the nose, sweet sourdough bread yeast.
Some sharp berry lies down the walkway for some other cool fruits to come a Prancin’- Bing cherry, mulberry, mint, raspberry licorice, and a highly vibrant kumquat acid that really shocks and awes.

This wine has so much going on. It’s like a life-form amalgam of animal/vegetable/mineral. Color is like plasma. Nose has raw grass-fed beef, liquid stones, and mentholic Ben-Gay thing, resinous herbs, lime, charcoal ash, and tangy boysenberry. Seriously. Lots of shit happening. It is mouthfilling and loaded with clingy, soft tannin, and has bloody, minerally, dark berry skin flavors for miles. Long finish and good acids. Only 13.9%, which, these days, passes for low alcohol. Terrific wine. — 6 years ago

Color of dark ruby, yet quite clear. Nose of vanilla, chocolate, a bit oak, and a bit strawberry. Taste is spicy, peppery, pure and round, dried strawberry, oak, a bit grassy, subtle and refined acidity, a bit salty bacon note, and low tannins. Aftertaste is smooth with more spicy note, oak, a bit plum and dates, a bit of mineral, and no edge savory. Only drawback is the nose, or she will be great. — 6 years ago

Funky dank forest, rich & velvety. Both on the nose and palette. Richer than I remember last year’s being. One yr. in the cellar may have done this well.
It is fairly big , 14.6°, but wears it well.
Black & blue over red fruits, tannins are pretty relaxed. Nice soil on the nose.
Time + air is kind, bringing out more complexity and brightness.
