Post Christmas Day celebrations with Orin Swift Abstract. We decanted for over an hour. The wine is a blend of Grenache, Petite Sirah and Syrah. Gorgeous aromas of ripe red fruit including raspberry, bing cherries and strawberry open the nose. The aromas continue onto the palate with added layers of barbecued meat, rhubarb, thyme, surrounding a dark fruit core. The smoothness is enveloping and lasting, the wine finishes with a delicate maraschino cherry note. Spectacular and one of my all time favorites. — 6 years ago
A straight up outstanding Canadian red. Bold, dark fruit notes, smooth and well balanced with that softer, more velvety mouthfeel you either love or hate in a Merlot. Prominent cherry, plum and blackberry with a hint of vanilla on the finish. Black Sage by Sumac Ridge in Summerland, BC continues to produce some of my favourite reds. This Merlot is as equally excellent as their Cab Franc. — 6 years ago
New Mexico bubbles! Who knew?? Bringing a little bit of the desert sunshine to the snowy Canadian Rockies tonight. This is a super high quality bottle of bubbly copper pink rosé. Superbly dry with a mild yeasty, crab apple and orange blossom nose. Apples primarily carry over to the palate with hints of bread and white cranberry tartness. A surprisingly excellent bottle of bubbles given the unexpected origin. Recommend. — 6 years ago
Utterly spectacular. For those that don’t know the FMC stands for Fucking Marvelous Chenin - and it is just that. The nose is honey, chalk, marzipan and pineapple. Bright gold colour, great acidity that cuts through the spicy Moroccan crab we had tonight. The palate is gorgeous with flavours of dried apricot, vanilla and honey. Currently my favourite white wine. Full stop. — 6 years ago
A really gorgeous French Chenin Blanc from Vouvray.Wonderfully aromatic, full and round, with a golden colour. Notes of exotic tropical fruits, honey, & crushed gravel on the nose. The palate opens with pronounced minerality and then reveals smoky notes and a lingering finish. Truly wonderful. — 6 years ago
A wonderful white wine made from Chenin Blanc, from France's Loire Valley. Anjou is the winegrowing district around the Angers in the Loire. This wine is bright gold in colour, perfectly balanced with a reserved palate and excellent acidity. Bright minerality, it has a whisper of butter tray buns followed by pomello, quince and finishing with lemon drops and orange blossom. Paired majestically with our Moroccan inspired dish of harrisa spiced crab bricks and fennel bulb & couscous salad. — 6 years ago

Bright, golden, elegant yet fresh with assertive minerality and notes of apple orchard, citrus, and mild vegetal on the palate. The wine finishes with light oaky notes including almond and bread yeast. Complex and quite lovely. — 6 years ago
