Patz & Hall

Sonoma Coast Chardonnay 2017

Still enjoy this bottle!! Crisp, slight oak, butter, smooth, medium tannins, medium acidity, just overall good. — 3 years ago

Napa Valley Merlot 2017

One of Napa’s finest Merlots. Spring Mountain fruit yields a nice roll of the back, light tannins and solid mid-palette treat. — 3 years ago

Private Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2004

Steak Night!!! This wine rocked from the moment poured from the decanter. Didn’t need much airtime to be very expressive and provide great fruit and depth. Held up well and was better than Caymus SS ‘06. Not even close — 3 years ago

Mas de Gourgonnier

Les Baux-de-Provence Grenache Blend 2018

i’ll drink this wine for the rest of my life. it’s 100% my style, a great mix of subdued, textured red fruits, herbs de provence, a rocky chalky thing, some mint, some olive, dried flower petals. just a lovely bottle. would recommend it to anyone who loves old world style wine — 3 years ago

Absolutely one of the best values in the wine world! So good especially with a few years of bottle age.

@Josh Morgenthau that’s a great call! i need to stash a few away and try that.

La Miraja

Ruché di Castagnole Monferrato 2019

On the nose, tart raspberry jam, black pepper, wet paint, cut grass, and very slight rose petals. Mouth watering acidity with a medium/short finish, medium tannins, slight pepper notes on the palate as well. Second time having the 2019, even after an hour and a half it still feels very tight. I’m going to hold this for a few more years and see how it progresses. — 3 years ago

Rosabella Rosato Langhe Rosé Blend 2020

Nose has strawberry, peach, watermelon rind, orange zest and crushed rocks.

Palate has dried strawberry, Clementine orange, fresh tart cherry, sharp acidity with a medium finish. The acidity level is really great, refreshing!

We're relaxing outside after our second vaccination shots earlier today; a beautiful and sunny afternoon in the Berkshires. We're feeling great and looking forward to rejoining with our wine crew soon!

Caymus Vineyards

Suisun Valley Grand Durif 2018

Wonderful Petite Syrah based wine. BIG and powerful but elegant at the same time! Ripe blue/black fruit aromas and flavors. Nose has touches of lilac and chocolate. Hints of vanilla, milk chocolate and toasty oak come through on the long finish. Deep Maroon/Purple color. Underrated varietal and love the fact that the Caymus Team refers to the grape this wine was made from under its traditional name of Duriff. — 3 years ago

Quintessa

Rutherford Red Blend

Had to try one of these. Obviously young and will need another 5-10 years to hit its stride. But drinking very enjoyably now. Perfectly ripe red fruit with hints of blue and black. Tannins and acidity still strong. Best to aerate for a couple hours. But wow what a long finish. — 3 years ago

Viña El Pisón Rioja Tempranillo 2012

Very smooth. A bit smoky. I know I should have shown more patience but I have been waiting on this one a few years and was in the mood. Very good and I suspect would have a lot more complexity a few years from now. — 3 years ago
