Great potential. Currently, elegant but subdued, this needs to sleep for another five years at least. This can be enjoyed now but for sure it will get better if you are patient and wait a while. Christmas spices, smoke and coffee. Rating reflects current taste, I guess an additional .3 or . 4 will be added in later years. — 4 years ago

This wine glows salmon pink in the glass, and smells of fresh, ripe strawberries and cherries. On the palate the strawberry takes the lead, while a note of stone fruit slips into the arena. There is a fairly zippy acidity to go along with the flavors. It’s Beaujolais, but bears a striking resemblance to Provençe.

The NV Bollinger Rose Champagne is comprised of 62% Pinot Noir, 24% Chardonnay with 14% Pinot Meunier, which was almost entirely sourced from a combination of premier and grand cru vineyards. Right away the mouthfeel really entices, as this shows wonderful verge and tension once on the attack. Layers of sour red fruits parade with shades of kumquat zest, wild mushroom and peat moss tones on the palate. The length here is excellent as this great new NV Rose will drink nicely over the next decade. Drink 2020-2028- 91 — 4 years ago
Unbending purple-black. Lovely nose of lavender and thyme, dusty black cherry, dried blackberry and ripe black currant, as well as a lovely mint moment of varietal introspection. Vanilla and cedar remain in check, as oak bolsters without overwhelming. A thing of beauty. Intense black cherry and currant wash over a scree of firm tannins. Great backbone, stellar integration. Strangely, I’m drinking it, but looking forward to the next bottle? Hmm. The purity of the fruit shines through with raspberry and dried strawberry notes making spirit cameos alongside Connecticut tobacco, plum and Roobios tea, but also an unusual citrus and leather-pepper. I wasn’t expecting so many differing fruit profiles , and such un-manipulated purity of grape expression. Great job! No need for makeup and plastic surgery for this action star! #schrader #doublediamond #schradercellars #napacab #napawine #napawinning #oakville #cabernetsauvignon #cabsauv #schraderdoublediamond — 4 years ago
Pale golden hue. Moderate tearing. Nose offers fresh pear, peach, star fruit, melon, apricot, with flinty, and delicate honeysuckle notes.

Sushi night with my bride. Krug always does a stand-up job with Japanese cuisine (and any cuisine, really). This was a 168ème split and boy, it was beautiful. 52% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay, and 13% Meunier. A blend of 198 wines spanning 11 years, the youngest being from 2012 and the oldest being from 1996. Cork was received in the Summer of 2018. Rich, opulent, dense, delightful. — 4 years ago
