Bodegas Faustino

Gran Reserva Faustino I Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2009

Fantastic supermarked Wine. Got it for under 100DKK and that is a super price. 13 years old and extremely tasty. Great fruit all the way followed with spices like fresh peber as well as smoke. It will always land in my basket when I see it to the right price. — 3 years ago

Coop special?

Vaso

Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

This is a very tasty Cabernet based Bordeaux blend from Napa Valley.

Full bodied, smooth and elegant, with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with a nice mouthfeel.

Showing blackberries, black currants, cooked cherries, cedar, leather, vanilla, licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco, mocha, coke and light earth.

Spicy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

A great example of the great 2015 vintage. Nicely balanced and fruit forward. Spicy and entertaining.

This 7 years old is drinking very nicely now, and will be good in the next 5 to 10 years.

Very enjoyable by itself or with food. I paired it with a Charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.

A blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot,
6% Petit Verdot, 3% Malbec and 1% Cabernet Franc. Aged for 20 months in French oak barrels.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

$80.

Domaine Bachelet-Monnot

La Fussière Maranges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2019

Maybe it was the company, the weather, the food or my mood but boy did I really enjoy this wine! Beautifully dark cherry color. Perfect level of fruit so the wine is hugely versatile. The manager of crush wines in nyc ( one of my favorite wine stores) recommended it - and boy was he right! Really love it. To my taste exactly at this time and pace (NY). Oh and I know I should have cellared or a bit more but I went for it. — 3 years ago

La Rioja Alta

Viña Alberdi Reserva Rioja Tempranillo 2016

2016 vintage. Textbook example. Sour cherries, dried raspberries, red currant, bitter orange, dill, coconut, cedar, dried sage, brick dust, a little yogurt-y sourness. Classic example. — 3 years ago

Domaine Tempier

Bandol Rosé Blend 2019

Anchovy pasta calls for Tempier rosé…better bottle than the last. Fruit shines through, terrific structure, medium acid. — 3 years ago

Tenuta Col d'Orcia

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2016

Excellent for the price and would still have been fantastic at twice the price. Dry, needs air for at least an hour to be realized. — 3 years ago

Morlet Family Vineyards

Ma Douce Sonoma County Chardonnay 2016

Shay A
9.4

Every time I have a Morlet Chardonnay, I wonder why I don’t enjoy them more often.

Pop and pour and 100% open for business. It has this unique toasted marshmallow aromatic that I always associate with Marcassin (funny enough, this vineyard isn’t too far from Marcassin in Fort Ross Seaview), along with such sweet, juicy tropical fruit like peach and guava, as well as honey roasted cashews. Up front is seems like it’s going to coat the entire mouth, but it fans out in a really elegant profile (sea salt dusted lemon scone, yellow fruits, honeysuckle) with a nice zip of acidity on the finish. Absolutely delicious right now, and I don’t see this getting much (if any) better.

Azienda Agricola Stanislao Radikon

"S" Slatnik Venezia Giulia Chardonnay Tocai Friulano 2019

This level of good at this level of wild is a rare special find. Usually there's a tradeoff. Slatnik is a strike with no bumpers. A very special bottle.

Beautiful copper tinted pumpkin ale. An aromatic journey with a beginning, a middle, and end - on loop.

Yellow canned peaches, orange zest, thyme. And then creeping curls of incense - a lift, higher registers and piercing perfumes of rosewater, potpourri, and butterscotch.

The flavors are concentrated and lengthy. Sweet salted tangerine, furry dried apricot. Really concentrated and powerful and also dynamic - this thing moves.
