Domaine Leflaive

Mâcon-Verzé Chardonnay 2016

An absolutely gorgeous wine for summer. Bright, crisp and focused with lemon zest, salty minerals and hints of dried floral. Shows wonderful purity and freshness all the way through the mineral-laced finish. — 5 years ago

@Ron R Definitely worth a try... it’s a fantastic wine and value, but in my opinion, the PYCM Bourgogne Blanc or Aligote are both even better.

Domaine Tempier

Bandol Rosé Blend 2017

Wow this is great. Medium salmon color. Intense nose of citrus, grapefruit and pine needles. Very sharp and spicy palate. Ends long. Excellent. — 5 years ago

Château Palmer

Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 1989

Happy 30th Birthday to my wife and to this bottle- we enjoyed with friends and family at the wonderful Saison in SF. Smelled so good I didn’t want to drink it- tons of purple florals, cedar, spice box, elegant old perfumes and dark purple and black fruit, which were still very fresh smelling. Palate was quite ethereal, a bit austere, but wonderfully balanced with fruit, tannin and acid doing a nice dance. Not as much impact as the nose but a very special bottle for a special occasion. — 5 years ago

Superb as always. Nose of spice, bright cherries, juicy and deep with amazing rich liaison like fruit and such incredible depth. So wonderful and clean. Fresh but not hugely acidic. Just perfect. So juicy. Balanced and refined. Long and so pure. Just one of the best roses in the world. — 5 years ago

Love this stuff.

Marcassin

Blue-Slide Ridge Vineyard Pinot Noir 2010

This was one of a quartet of beautiful bottles shared by the fantastic and hilarious @Bill Bender. It opened beautifully with a little San Diego summer evening air and still has many a year ahead. More importantly, it was washed down amidst superb company and perfectly accompanied the abundance of laughter. To top it all off we even managed some quality FaceTime with @Shay A whilst sipping the last glass. Great clean Friday night fun - 2010 — 5 years ago

🤣 I concentrate on a single part of the boar....or a actually a double part of the boar 🐗 if I am being entirely accurate. I will leave nose and tail to you, but I’d share any meal with you any damn day of the week.

Vietti

Castiglione Barolo Nebbiolo 2014

Looking so good today; vivid aromatics of rose petal, leather, anise, almond skin and tart red fruit. Tannins are approachable, acidity well integrated & length is okay but perhaps what holds it back but super enjoyable to drink. — 5 years ago

I’ve got this wine coming into my store soon- possibly today... look like a bottle is coming home with me

Chateau Latour-Martillac

Pessac-Leognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

This was a treat. Drank well for a young Bordeaux. Spicy and peeper lent to an even keeled medium body wine. Soft tannins and low acidity made for a nice experience — 5 years ago

This stuff is delicious! If you can find it, try the Whistlepig 6yr piggyback rye... half the price and lots of the flavor. More raw and edgy.
