This wine has a lot to offer at its price point. Enjoyed with family following dinner out. We were unable to finish and remaining wine was stored refrigerated for 2 nights. This wine was as good if not better the 3rd night. Many wines seem to fall apart within 24 hours. Recommend decanting and aeration night one.
Well worth the $20 per bottle. No regret if you don’t break out the Coravin as it will hold up nicely a couple of days. Solid structure and balance. Drinks like a Cali Cab❤️ — 6 years ago
Beautiful dark red robe, nose of black fruits, flowers and a hint of spices. Very long elegant and balanced in the mouth, with very mature tannins and great freshness. This is a great wine built to age but can be approached now if you decant it sometime before drinking. Works wonderfully with food. Enthusiastically recommended ! — 6 years ago

Is it OK if I dare that it is still a few years too young
Great structure, lovely, but present tannin
So elegant, precise in its details
Long and an amazing aftertaste of a the sour cherry decorated with lots of elements

Nose begins as a dull flint, with some petrol. Needs 5 minutes of air for the fruit and oak to unfurl. Really shows after an hour open. Incredible energy and length, which is reminiscent of Sandhi, though with clearly different typicity, showing less of the lemon/lime thing and more of a full, buttery popcorn thing. Everything’s decently integrated, for the age. — 6 years ago
My first experience with Cascina Roccalini was last year with the 2013 vintage and I was hugely impressed so I was very excited to try the 2014 version. Popped and poured; initially bright ruby in the glass but became noticeably darker, turning to garnet after about fifteen minutes. The nose on the 2014 Roccalini was opulent; far and away the freshest and most interesting of the group in the first couple of hours with beautiful, ripe cherries, bruised red delicious apples, tar, baking spices and roses. So much pleasure! After about hour three, the roses gave way for Easter Lilies...which I can't ever recall in a red wine before. However, around hour five, the Roccalini started to fall apart and the finish became watery and thin which is exactly what happened to the 2014 "Sori Paitin"; further reinforcing my feeling that the 2014's will be a vintage to enjoy while they are younger and preferably within the first couple hours of being open. Drink now or before 2022. — 6 years ago

Kickoff to the extended weekend! This is MUCH more interesting than the non-SVD Trujillo I had several months ago. Yet still young. This has youthful blackberries, cocoa, cinnamon spice on the nose. Full bodied wine. Palate dominated by blackberry in the front. Cocoa powder and some cola notes to the middle. Finishes with a lot of sweet, chalky, toasted tannin. Youthful blackberry and blueberry on the finish. Will definitely improve with time in bottle. A very youthful wine, and overall I probably should have let it sit another five years. Solid 94 now and will definitely improve with age. — 6 years ago
