Sophisticated and very appealing bouquet full of earthy notes, tar, leather, mulberry, black cherry and medicinal herbs. Despite the age (16 years old, not sure how to translate that to human age), it is so much alive, well structured and balanced, long fruitful aftertaste with notes of licorice and chocolate. More experienced folks say this wine has good potential and I can't help myself but to dream about future of this wine.

Celebrating my b-day with my wonderful husband in Napa. What a treat for sure! A 2008 Screaming Eagle. A beautiful garnet necklace to match the rich garnet color of the wine. Wow!! Taste— dark plum-cherry, sandalwood and florals with mint and stewed meat notes; slight cedar and spices floating at the tail end. A rich creamy flavor of dark cherry plum fruit, graphite, dark chocolate espresso, hints of vanilla and a long musky floral cedar finish. Looking forward to see how it changes throughout the evening! Cooling down with a nice subtle breeze to enjoy this fabulous wine. — 3 years ago

Once again another great bottle if this decently priced Chassagne Villages. Some lemon, touch of butter nd definitely a salinity on the nose and palate. A generous and chrming wine with some roundness and richness yet with enough acidity to make it a great balance, good length too, delicious simply and now my 4th bottle in the last year and they were all spot on. — 3 years ago

Fontodi is located in the heart of Chianti Classico. One of Italy's elite red grape varieties, Sangiovese has the perfect mix of bright red fruit and earthiness found in the best red wines of Tuscany. This dry smooth velvety wine with hints of green olives mixed with black cherry delivers plenty of character. Great finish with a delicious tannin bite. An excellent wine for drinking today and setting several cases aside for future enjoyment. — 3 years ago
