The Federalist Lodi Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Surprisingly good for the very low price. This wine has wonderful somewhat floral flavor. Along with raspberries and other dried fruit. There’s a nice nose and decent tannins. This is definitely going on the midweek drinkers list. It was fun sharing it with friends at the combine birthday party for our friends, Agnes and Richard. #federalist #lodi #lodiwine — 3 years ago

Earthquake Lodi Petite Sirah 2014

Go big or go home. @MichaelDavidWinery 2014 Earthquake Petite Sirah (SRP $26) is rich and concentrated; a weighty wine with firm, youthful tannins. Though substantial, it is well balanced. It is a wine to enjoy while sitting around a roaring fire pit on a cool fall evening. And it can easily stand up to hearty comfort foods. If you like them big, you will love this wine. As a matter of fact, I think you would be enamored with every selection in Michael David’s “Earth Quake” and “Inkblot” portfolio—especially the Tannat and Petit Verdot in the latter. I’m pairing this Petite Sirah with smoked baby back ribs slathered in a thick, flavorful sauce. #MichaelDavid #Earthquake #PetiteSirah #wine #winelover #winewriter #wineblogger #myvinespot #Lodi #LodiWine — 9 years ago

Lodi Grenache

Ruby color with perfumed red fruit, sweet spice (including an appealing kiss of cardomom), red licorice and lavender aromas. On the palate it's light-bodied, elegant, and concentrated with very good acidity and velvety tannins. It shows cherry, raspberry, cola and spice flavors with a bit of minerality showing up on a very giving finish. #lodiwine #grenache — 10 years ago

9.0

On the first day open, it was kinda disjointed and woody. Lots of bacon and smoke covering unmistakably concentrated fruit. On day 2 it got more savory and herbal. Now on day three the fruit is gorgeous -- ripe but not jammy. Minty-menthol herbal note with spice and great structure. This is why reviewers who base scores on one 90-second encounter can't be trusted. #lodiwine #snoothvt — 11 years ago
