My first #morgon - Rather shy cherry and strawberry fruit with some slate undertones. Impression on palate is wild cherry and strawberry juice up front, some cigar and earthy undertones with a mineral framework and fresh acidity. Good opening wine choice for Thanksgiving; ~$17 at Total Wine. — 4 years ago
Beetroot, crushed rocks. More open and drinkable now than the massive 2015. Pleasantly tannic. Another in a string of sensational Crus from Brunet! #morgon #gamay #crubeaujolais — 7 years ago
QPR champ #morgon #grandcras from J.M. Dupré - my second bottle this year. Notes remain the same as previous review in July, repeat impression is of nice balance of red/black fruit and savory notes. Noticing a lovely palate texture that was less obvious last time; slight peppery prickle on the tip of the tongue that fades away after airing out in the glass. This is one of the best food pairing wines that I’ve tasted recently, matched up beautifully to pork carnitas & beef sirloin tacos (no spicy salsa.) Great juice for ~$12 a bottle at #costco . — 2 years ago
Wines that over-deliver as much as this one does are truly rare. Outstanding value!

Ah #morgon magic - right away aromas of red/black berry compote, a pleasantly earthy funk, iron, graphite, black tea. Medium-light body, crunchy acidity, slight feathery tannins. Such a pretty wine that paired well with vegetable/cauliflower tapas, fresh tuna ceviche, poached salmon and all the way to buffalo steak. — 2 years ago
Gotta love a ~$17 #crubeaujolais from Costco. This producer’s #morgon might have developed further for a couple of years but this 2019 opened up nicely a day in the wine fridge. Swirling in my Burgundy bowl glass reveals spicy wild cherry notes edging towards bramble fruit, raspberry purée, black pepper, wet stone, iron and faint smoky notes. Solid concentration on palate, crunchy red fruit, substantive tannins supported by juicy acidity. Outstanding QPR here - stock up on this for Thanksgiving if you can find it. — 3 years ago
Shockingly fine. Pure, energetic, fruity and engaging, with the extra intensity and complexity that comes from extremely old vines. This is as riveting in its youth as Brunet’s legendary 2014. Not as big as the ‘15 or ‘16, but way more detailed. One of the greatest young Bojos I’ve ever tasted. #domainederobert #morgon #gamay — 6 years ago
