Interesting bargain #gamay from a well known producer. This 2016 shows a fair bit of bricking the glass; a day after uncorking shows some nice sour cherry, wet slate notes and a ghost of mace spice on the nose. Palate is less impressive with some raisiny notes along with expected tart cherry, suggesting a gentle decline past maturity, but still a solid QPR wine for ~$14 at Costco. Lovely #Gamay. This #beaujolais had powerful graphite and violets and roses. Very clean palate and harmonious tannin/acid. With time the minerality and fruit became extremely elegant but lasting. #wine — 6 years ago

#beaujolaislatignie this is the first time I’ve tried a Latignie appellation wine. 100% #Gamay I’m really impressed with how well it is still tasting. #handharvested it’s 14.5% and it really resembles Garnacha blind. This is a theme now with me, I think blind, (if not made in 100% carbonic) Gamay and Garnacha can seem quite similar. Especially the Beaujolais Cru. — 8 months ago
