Reserve Tapestry Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend
Time for my #FridayCabernetfix. This week it's a wonderful Cabernet based blend from Napa Valley.
Dark ruby in color with a short purple rim.
Fruity nose with blackberries, black cherries, vanilla, licorice, cedar, spices, earth, cloves, pencil lead, leather, chocolates, dark coffee, alcohol, spices and peppercorn.
Full-bodied and bold with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate and very fruity with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, earth, spices, chocolates, tobacco, mocha, coke and peppercorn.
Long finish with firm tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is another very nice red blend from Napa Valley. Well balanced with a great mouthfeel. Showing nice complexity, but still young.
Needs an hour to open up properly and show some tannins, however it is good right out of the bottle.
This five-year-old is drinking nicely now and will get better in the next couple of years.
I just love these Cabernet Sauvignon based Bordeaux Blends from Napa Valley.
Robert Parker 90 points. Wine Enthusiasts 91 points.
A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, 5% Malbec and 3% Cabernet Franc. Aged separately for 21 months in small oak barrels.
14.8% alcohol by volume.
92 points.
$65.

1 person found it helpfulJan 20th, 2018Definitely a vintage to seek out, drinking great now with many years ahead of it.
I can’t drink these on release, just nothing there. 10-20 years is needed

Elegant, smooth Cabernet blend. No fruit, but rather a dried cherry flavor. The tannins are mellow. Leave it open a few hours before consuming. It ends with a long, bitter finish.

Feb 10th, 2022Good Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon blend. The Cabernet Sauvignon dominates here, and the wine is very bold and fruit driven. It starts with a sweet cherry flavor that is a little too sweet for my taste. But is a well-made wine and likely to be appreciated by Napa Cabernet Sauvignon fans.

Aug 18th, 2021Amazed at the difference btw this and the ‘11’s (which I somehow haven’t reviewed??) far more austere, less fruity, not sure I could tell it from a straight cab. Also turned a bit earthy to my taste late....J disagrees, likes it better than the ‘11
