A gem from our cellar for my 60th, a great example of well made Oakville Cab aged well and really at a high point in its age, the texture was gorgeous, the pallet was complex, a beautiful wine. It tasted fantastic with our roast rack of veal. Thanks to my beautiful wife Lesley for this one.

Dark cherry, rose, olive, leather, pepper. Soft acid and tannins. Past it’s prime but still a really fun wine with the Mrs.!!!

Wine #2 from the steak night and 2006 Cali vs Washington comparison.
Far niente smelled very fruity upon opening and then as it decanted, it closed a bit but it was tight. Solid balance and good depth. Overall pretty good.
About 50/50 on the winner vs the Leonetti.
