1 person found it helpfulJul 23rd, 201812 years old and drinking much younger. Just a touch of garnet on the rim but otherwise still ruby in color. Bright fruit jumps out of the glass right away. Candied Blackberries, tobacco, green tea. Almost touches on bubble gum. It goes on to smell more on the dried fruit side after about 10 minutes of decanting but still holds up. (Cork broke so I had to decant. Anecdotally, not a ton of sediment, but some.) A very slight bell pepper note and well integrated. Palate says what the nose knows. Good acidity and bone dry. No RS here that I can detect. A modest body. Rather dry pomegranate in flavor at this point. Dusty yet modest tannins rounded out a solid, lasting, fruity finish. 13.5% alcohol.

Pink roses and a nice red bell pepper finish to the nose. Acidic and ripe black cherries and underripe black raspberries on the palate with a lingering bell pepper and fresh earthy finish. Paired with a filet and mushroom ravioli. To die for. Tasted an 02 tonight and it was like water. This 03 is absurdly good. On the 02 i suspect maderization. Returning the bottle to try another. Well see what happens.

May 17th, 2020Highly acidic with cherries on the sniffy sniff. Mildly tannic and may improve with 5 more years of cellaring. The acid needs to be tamed. Medium finish.
