Réserve Exclusive Brut Champagne
Tailgating for the first ski day of the year and kicking things off with this, because you’ve got to start off right.
Nice golden color with great small bubbles and a fizzy top. Smells of brioche, pear, and green apple. Quite dry, pleasant mouthfeel, and yellow apples and stone fruit coming through nicely.
Off to the slopes!

Bubbles to celebrate a close friend's engagement! Not exactly to my liking, but nice for the occasion. Quite rich and fruity. More oxidative and autolytic than the Cremant de Bourgogne we drank this with. Nose was like ripe pears on an almond danish. The palate was somewhat sweet - apples, marzipan, ginger. Could use a little more zing and mineral touch. Somehow, it finishes a little warm for me. Hmmmm.

Feb 23rd, 2020Gift from Alan Alda and his team. Nose: orange morning bun or lemon brioche. Palette: starts with starlight peppermint then crisp Fuji apple, then a salty briney oyster and then finishes with a slow rise crispy sourdough. Butterscotch and coffee in there too. Consumed with a fried chicken dinner from GP beer during the quarantine April 5 2020.

Fine bubbles, light mousse, medium finish ending with fruit, citrus and yeasty biscuit character. Pair this with shrimp cocktail.

Made for discount grocers and big box stores, perhaps? Decent bubbles if you must have Champagne on the label, but better values abound from other regions at this price.

Aug 29th, 2020Traditional Champagne blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier. Straw gold color. Aromas of green pear, white flowers and crustacean shells. Flavors of green apple, pear and apricot. Hint of citrus and pie dough on the long finish. Creamy mousse and bright effervescence. Tangy and crisp.
