2019 vintage. Decanted and tasted after one and two hours. Medium body. Pretty throughout with decently consistent push and focus. Another decade might bump this up to a 9.2 or 9.3. 1.9.26. — 16 hours ago
2024 vintage. Necessary evil. At least the price is nice. 1.8.26. — 2 days ago
2023 vintage. Light-medium/medium body. Fairly aromatic with oodles of red berries and cracked black pepper at the onset. The cracked black pepper gave way rather quickly to white pepper and white sage. The raspberry, strawberry, cranberry and boysenberry jam kept on rocking. After one hour open, a slightly astringent but pleasant, Mormon Tea plant + black tea influence + a little pomegranate tartness buttressed by some clove notes. Really really pretty like the previous vintage (10.30.24-9.0) but with much more stuffing. The 2021 effort (6.21.23-9.5) was fab as well but bigger, earthy smoky, heavier and without the delicate intricacies of this 2023 vintage. This is currently drinking like it has 5-7 years of age under the belt. 1.6.26. — 3 days ago
2007 vintage. Perfect fill and excellent cork. Used a Durand. Decanted with some expected unfined/unfiltered sed that was the size/texture of Ovaltine or Folger’s, freeze-dried, coffee crystals. Gamey, meaty nose mated with cranberry. Tasted after 45 minutes open. Still medium-heavy body although another few years of aging will drop it to medium body. The cranberry and gamey/meaty impressions remained intact in the flavors and some pomegranate spritz and blood orange notes came along for the ride. Complex and impressive. No rush to crush. 1.9.26. — 10 hours ago
2023 vintage. The usual, zippy spice compendium in play here with some mineral "componentry." Medium/medium-heavy bod for Sauvvie Blanc. 1.9.26. — a day ago
2021 vintage. Last tasted 10.8.25 (9.2). Light-medium bod this visit vs medium bod previous go round. Fantastic nose still redolent of dark fruit-infused graphite, blood, night time riverbank mud and dark chocolate-covered cherry. Finish currently that artificial, grapey cough syrup mixed with espresso...a veritable ayahuasca potion flavor (don't ask me how I know) and fairly bitter. Wine all about the approach and handshake vs the actual transaction but still very interesting and worth the super affordable price. Not the biggest BDX so you could easily bounce into Rhône or Burgundy or Bandol to keep the party going. 1.6.26. — 3 days ago
2023 vintage. Opened but not tasted for 6 hours. Medium bod. Closer to an aged Côte-Rôtie that mimics Burgundy. Ballard Canyon AVA. 14% ABV. Delicate, gorgeous and delicious. 1.9.26. — 13 hours ago
2023 vintage. Opened but not tasted for 6 hours (a tad busy!!). Eventually circled back to it. WoW. Medium-heavy bod. Earthy, muddy, rich in the nose and in the flavors. Tremendous length of finish. Supposedly from an Auguste Clape clone, cuttings or some such. This didn't suck. Tannins relatively folded into the overall vibe. Ballard Canyon AVA and 14% ABV. Tasted slightly hot so a little surprised only 14%. So good. 1.9.26. — 13 hours ago
2021 vintage. Dusty and plummy for the duration with a decent, tannic doorstop that just won't budge. 1.9.26. — 2 days ago

2023 vintage. Medium-heavy bod. Smoky nose and flavors with plenty of supporting stuffing. Some tannins but easily lost in the predominantly plummy fruit parade. Super-drinkable and a food match for pretty much any land-based, animal protein. 1.9.26. — 8 hours ago
