2005 vintage. Talented winemaker Jérôme Eymas doesn't produce a wine under this "Prestige" label anymore, but at the time it was a premium wine and it shows the ageing potential of his wines. A blend of Merlot (75%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (25%) from the best grapes of his oldest vines, aged for 12 months in oak. Attractive nose of strawberry jam, dried herbs and a hint of leather. Fully mature and well-balanced with a soft mouthfeel, a certain complexity and good length. Drinking beautifully now, probably at its peak. Abv. 13%. — 4 years ago
Holy smokes! What a wine. Rich, endless levels of alternating dark and red fruit. Well structured to guide you to a perfect, lingering finish. And the lamb burger on a brioche bun with a salsa of beets oranges and onions marinated in lemon, honey and olive oil. And.....drum roll, authentic Lamb Weston Alexia sweet potato fries and a touch of chipotle mustard. Did I just die and went to heaven? — 7 years ago

2019 vintage. This is the red "Grappe Diem" Blaye. Jérôme Eymas gained winemaking experience in both New World (Australia, Chile) and Old World (Switzerland, Champagne, Côte Rôtie) before taking over the family estate. This "Grappe Diem" is a selection of the best plots with old Merlot (75%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (25%) vines. Intense cherry and blackberry aromas, slightly jammy, but balanced by a fresh almost minty touch. Concentrated bright fruit and spices with good acidity balancing the high alcohol (15% abv.). Long warm spicy finish. Serve slightly cool at 16°C to keep the alcohol in check, the ripe tannins have no problem with that. Sexy Bordeaux indeed. Note: in the best vintages this estate also produces a confidential high end 100% Merlot cuvée called "Le Secret". — 4 years ago
2018 vintage. This is only the 3rd time Rémy Eymas made this handpicked selection of the best grapes of his estate. The 2010 and 2014 were both excellent, but this 2018 is in a different league. The two previous vintages were blends of 80% Cabernet Franc and 20% Merlot, whereas the 2018 is 80% Cabernet Franc and 20% Malbec (I tasted the components from barrel last year and I was certain that he would add Malbec to the blend, as they were showing exceptionally well). Moreover, he moved to " vinification intégrale" with this wine, and this costly procedure is a real game changer. Easily the best wine Rémy has ever made, Je Suis 2018 is a spectacular wine that must be tasted to be believed. Beautifully complex nose with a panoply of red and black fruits (raspberries, blueberries , blackberries), roses, violets and delicate vanilla. In the mouth it features excellent balance with layers of fruit, juicy acidity, haute couture tannins and an incredibly long finish. The 15% abv. is well-integrated. If there was a classification in Bourg this would be definitely a First Growth. — 2 years ago
2015 vintage. Gros Moulin has a long winemaking history, Rémy Eymas being the 11th generation. Per Vitem ad Vitam is a Cabernet Franc (80%) and Malbec blend and this 2015 is gorgeous. Intense perfume with blackberries, violets, cedar wood and a hint of rosemary. This complex beauty combines power and elegance. The solid tannic backbone is balanced by fresh acidity and layered black fruit. Great length too. Hard to resist now, but should age effortlessly for at least 15 years. Terrific value at 25 euros. Not to be missed. — 3 years ago
