Pio Cesare Cortese di Gavi DOCG 2018: Sad to hear of the passing of legendary wine visionary Pio Boffa however last night I opened this bottle as a celebration of life! It was crisp & dry with bright acidity and great depth & flavor. Notes of citrus, green apple, pear & honey. Light minerality on the finish. Cheers & thank you to Pio 🍷🍷 — 4 years ago
Winery located in Alba, Piedmont region founded in 1881. Great Grandson, Pio Boffa, continues the tradition of innovative wine making. Ruby red color with red fruit aromas and herb floral scents. On the palate flavors of sour cherry, dried berries, cinnamon, licorice and tobacco notes. Soft tannins complement fruit to long finish ending with earthy mineral oak. Wonderful, Nebbiolo at its best! Starting to drink now! — 5 days ago

Great nose. Tightly focused berry fruit. Some florals. Spice. Palate is dense, concentrated and pure with wonderful elegance. Amazingly fresh and such terrific palate presence and texture. Grippy tannins and very sappy. Excellent acids. Like this a lot. Terrific sweetness. Awesome. — 5 years ago
