Pio Cesare Cortese di Gavi DOCG 2018: Sad to hear of the passing of legendary wine visionary Pio Boffa however last night I opened this bottle as a celebration of life! It was crisp & dry with bright acidity and great depth & flavor. Notes of citrus, green apple, pear & honey. Light minerality on the finish. Cheers & thank you to Pio 🍷🍷 — 4 years ago
Nutmeg, red currant, red cherry, cinnamon. Really bright, balanced acidity. Low to medium tannin. Very fresh — 2 years ago

Great nose. Tightly focused berry fruit. Some florals. Spice. Palate is dense, concentrated and pure with wonderful elegance. Amazingly fresh and such terrific palate presence and texture. Grippy tannins and very sappy. Excellent acids. Like this a lot. Terrific sweetness. Awesome. — 5 years ago

Winery located in Alba, the Piedmont region was founded by its namesake in 1881. Great Grandson, Pio Boffa, continues the tradition of innovative wine making. Ruby with dried red fruit aromas and herb floral scents. On the palate sour cherry & raspberry, cinnamon, toasty nuts, licorice and herb notes. Full soft tannins bring fruit to lingering finish ending with earthy mineral. Wonderful! — 5 years ago

Good wine but it felt a little bit “tired”. Improved however over time — 7 months ago
