2019 vintage. Pinot Noir from Burgundy, Grand Vins de Bourgogne. This is an appellation wine from a thin, sloped strip of land called the Cote de D’or then you travel to a hillside in the Joseph Drouhin vineyard for Gevrey-Chambertin. This is a delicious wine. It’s designated as an intro wine from the region — appellation. The pinot noir vineyards in Burgundy trace back to medieval times. Button mushroom and spice on the nose. A light, Balanced, silky, long finish, cherry, Pomegranate, a bit of potting soil moderate acidity that is balanced with low tannins. Get a case. If this is classified as an appellation wine from producer Joseph Drouhin, I can’t wait to try a Villages and Crus. — 6 months ago
"Basque country overlaps with the Rioja appellation, and Diez-Caballero's 2014 Reserva embodies that unique culture's esthetic and gastronomic identity. Its aromatics leap from the glass in waves of blackberry and vanilla notes while dark cherry flavors and polished tannins extend through the satisfying finish" — 2 years ago
A blend of medieval varietals, Fränkischer Burgunder, Hartblau, Süsschwarz,
Schwarzblauer Affenthaler, Schwarzurban. Say that 3 times fast. Nose is gorgeous and floral with some lovey herbal depth and also sour cherry fruit. Lavender is the major floral part. Really compelling. Sage as well. This is a knockout aromatically and so unusual. Maybe some raspberry liquer? Wow. Palate is juicy and easy going with wonderful, elegant and ripe tannins. Super pure and lithe. Terrific concentration and structure and lovely fruit depth on the finish. This is an ultra fascinating wine. So much to love here. A summer supper but also has the structure of a Bordeaux. Not like a classed growth but a fine wine from Montagne-St. Emilion or Haut-Medoc. Long finish. Very impressed.
Sweet red licorice aromas after air. Softer and plusher. Lovely sweet fruit now and so supple yet grippy. Gorgeous wine. — 2 years ago
Un tempranillo mezcla de rioja. este es mi tercero tempranillo desde rioja. espero sentirme un caballero. first scent was coke (cola) on the cork. hue is extremely dark. No clarity much turbidity in broad daylight. slight note of sweet cherry. much barrel and deep tannic tones of turbulence i find terrific. sour cherry on the tongue. Really dazzling deep wine brings the whole picnic and woodsy fairytale all together #tempranilloblend — 7 months ago
I hade the 2001 Selección Especial a couple months back at this same restaurant but this one is even better. Holds up very nice for such a mature wine. Berries, dried orange peal, christmas cake, coffee, olives, potting soils, herbs. This bottle was kept i a cool 12th century medieval cellar for almost 20 years, that and some extra magic. At a very nice peak atm. — 2 years ago
White and red wine at the same time… in this economy?? — 2 years ago
Dark wood trimmings, dead flowers, lots of medieval energy in this one. Blackberry and black plum with hints of clove and cinnamon on the nose. Very earthy and mineral with a nice grip that begs for food. Layered and complex. — 3 years ago

‘Les Blanchots’ is a Grand Cru climat in Chablis, situated on a steep, southeast-facing hillside known for its white clay subsoil (after which ‘Les Blanchots’ takes its name) sitting above Kimmeridgian limestone, comprised of clay, chalk and fossilized oyster shells. 🙌🏻
This wine fermented in a combination of French oak barrels (70%) and stainless steel (30%) followed by 16 months aging on the lees in the cellars of a medieval monastery (L’Obédiencerie) acquired by the Laroche family in 1985.
It is medium lemon in appearance with an elegant expression of lemon peel, fresh white peach, apple, honeydew, star fruit, kumquat, white blossom, seashell, crushed stone, wet slate, struck match, toast, cream, and vanilla characteristics.
On the palate, it offers vibrant, racy acidity and a well-balanced structure.
It is superb! 😆😆😆 — 4 months ago
