Second red wine we tried from Cadle Family Wines. Darkest purplish ruby red of the lineup. Beautifully layered nose, with an onslaught of baking spices (cinnamon and caramel) that leads into some savory undertones (gamey and light dirty cellar). Light body that builds up as it opens up to a moderate plus body. Some light greenery, plums and red cherries on the palate. Cherries carry throughout the body. Lots of acidity, definitely needs some time to balance out. Dry and very long finish. Definitely the bigger of the wines tasted from Cadle Family Wines, needs some more bottle age and this will be a beauty. Drink till 2024. — 9 years ago
Gewurzt with a great nose and acidity to back up all of the fruit and floral flavors. — 9 years ago

First red wine we tried from Cadle Family Wines. This one is made from a fun little grape known as "little sweet one". Garnet red with deep, dark purplish core. Very intriguing nose that started with a savory attack, both cheese and a little stinky. Opened up with lots of strawberries, almonds and anise undertones. Palate was coated in black cherries, a little creamy and semi-sweet. Moderate tannins (6.5/10) and moderate plus body. Great structure, quite smooth and rounded. Not sharp and definitely held well together over the four day period we tasted it, great value. Long and dry finish. Drink till 2022. — 9 years ago
