Enjoyed an amazing first tasting in Montalcino with Margarita and Tomaso. Purchased the 2011 vintage. — 9 years ago
Vintage 2016 | Luca di Tomaso | undoubtly the most difficult wine I drank this year, lovely difficulties. Spicy cherries in nose, a tannin giant, leave this wine in the cellar for the next 3-5 years. To curb this I put it in the decanter 7+ hours. It tastes rich. Rich and stubborn. Such a promise for the future. Nice minerality. Paired with a spicy Texas stew with beef, beans and mais. ❤️ the SAGRANTINO wines. — 3 years ago
Davide makes a killer Barbera. Fantastic nose of cherries and berries. Lots of spice. Very friendly. Sense of more depth than normal inexpensive Barbera. Nice richness and so much cleansing acidity with lovely fruit and terrific balance. Exactly what I want in a Barbera. — 7 years ago
2016 vintage. Last tasted 02.07.24 (9.4). Still medium-heavy body but the alcohol/flavors enduring a bit of angst currently. Hot alcohol hits front palate, then fruit, then 18-wheeler tannins. Tasting as if it fell apart and needs a magic wand to meld it all back together. Still, fairly impressive tasting the holy trinity simultaneously, yet separately, and with unexpected composure given the lack of quality pavement for this 1974 De Tomaso Pantera. 01.20.25. — 7 months ago
Totally mineral. Some bubblegum, cherry and strawberry but comes off a bit soapy. — 3 years ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of two days. Best on Day 2. The 2020 pours a garnet color with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of Morello cherry, red roses, talcum powder, strawberry and raspberry cream, wood varnish, green herbs and dried gravelly earth. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and savory. Drink now through 2040.
These gotta be some of the best values left in Barolo. It’s probably worth noting that I had been wanting to try the wines from Tomaso Gianolio for many years however, distribution was almost non-existent. Thanks for changing all that @Lyle Fass — a month ago
