This is a surprisingly elegant wine for its youthful age. Medium garnet in color with lovely aroma of fresh and dried rose petal,violet, black cherry, red currant, leather, forest floor, dried orange peel, cranberry. Great complexity but the most surprising element is how well the fine grained tannins balance with the primary and tertiary aroma and flavors. The medium plus acidity helps provide excellent structure. An excellent wine from a difficult year. Enjoyable now and a long future ahead. — 4 years ago

Leather and a hint of anise on the nose. Front is unripe red fruit—which doesn’t really please me. Soft tannins on the mid-palate. Needs to breathe, but the finish is superb! I’d rate it higher if it weren’t so lame on the front. — 4 years ago
