Casanova di Neri

Tenuta Nuova Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2020

This is an old friend. An old experience I've had before but different. Younger, with more time needed to open but as the wine changes and evolves, its reminiscent to those brunellos of the past. This may not be the most ideal brunello year but it definitely satisfies the experience. Sometimes i wonder if any brunello will come close to those brunellos I had in the past but as the time passes, things evolve and change and maybe youll get glimmers of those brunellos but nothing exact. Well this is the first brunello of this decade of 2020, so we will see what the future holds! Definitely worth another try but after its aged a few months or years. Good nonetheless. — 8 days ago

Vigna Casanova dell'Aia Chianti Classico Sangiovese 2017

Reviewed this vintage 3 times. Last bottle. Still excellent. Keep or drink over the next 2-5 years. Tons of tannins, kirsch, crushed marble. Mostly red fruit , touch blueberry, hint bitter. A reference wine.

In a perfect spot! Great Brunello, tastes still young so I think quite some time left to drink these — 2 months ago

Il Nero di Casanova Toscana Sangiovese 2020

Ming L
8.9

The winery’s entry level Sangiovese bottling. Aged 15 months in second-use French oak for 2020 vintage, it delivers a darker-fruited profile while preserving Sangiovese’s classic character. A versatile, crowd-pleasing choice and pairs especially well Northern Italian pasta dishes. — 2 months ago

Il Rosé di Casanova Prugnolo Gentile - Sangiovese Rosé Blend

Not too many Sangiovese roses in my life. This is good. As it warms it gets much more earthy and vegetal. A lot of red watermelon, but overall savory. Pretty great with bbq. I’m guessing not so great with lighter fare or to crush over an afternoon. — 2 months ago

30 ° Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2019

Opens up with bright fruit - cranberries, apples, but then takes off into smoky tones underlying licorice, chocolate and carob. An initial acidity also blends into smooth tannins and a long finish. — 9 months ago
