Castillo De Piedra

Marqués de Murrieta

Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva Especial Rioja Tempranillo Blend 1970

This bottle had been cellared since release and cork was in near pristine condition. At 54 years old, it remains a deep garnet/purple and now with loads of sediment. Classic Rioja character with dried black cherry, toasted coconut, cedar, dried flowers, leather and earth. The structure remains intact and the acid is still pretty fierce. This should continue to age very well if conditions are good. — 5 days ago

Marqués de Murrieta

Castillo Ygay Reserva Especial Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2018

Blend of 86% Tempranillo, 8% Graciano, 4% Mazuelo (Cariñena) and 2% Garnacha, grapes and various plots fermented separately, aged for 20 months in American oak, then blended. Deep Ruby color with aromas of ripe black fruits and floral spice notes. On the palate flavors of cherry, blackberry and plum with notes of leather, vanilla and oaky notes. Fine tannins, long finish, lively acidity ending with fruit, sweet oak and spice. Nice! ‘17 a bit better! — 8 months ago

Castillo Clavijo

Monte Clavijo Rioja Tempranillo 2021

Super refreshing for this beautiful Memorial Day down south…. Notes of berry. Slightly acidic and delicious for a hot day in the pool. — 4 months ago

Castillo Clavijo

Gran Reserva RIoja Tempranillo Blend 2016

Great rioja for the price. Great flavors of vanilla and warm spice. Thin body but nice structure otherwise. Crisp for a rioja. — 5 months ago

Familia Zuccardi

Finca Piedra Infinata Paraje Altamira Malbec Blend 2019

This is a young and elegant Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina.

This Single Vineyard is showing nice complexity already, with big tannins on the finish.

Aged in concrete vats with 30% used oak barrels.

Would be nice to revisit it in 7 years.

90 points.
