Bouchet & Merle

CFM 60/40 Equilibrium + Intensity Cabernet Franc Merlot 2020

The Cab Franc gives this wine a dark. Nose: berry with a hint of umami. Pallete: raspberry and blueberry. Nice finish, low tannins, good soft wine. — 10 days ago

Plaisir de Merle

Grand Plaisir Paarl Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2015

Very smoky when we first opened but the tannins really mellowed on the second day. Lots of body. — a month ago

Krug

Krug Collection Brut Champagne Blend 1971

From mag. Gold in color. An enchanting soft nose with Merle lemon, orchard fruit, a delicate stoniness. Really beautiful and poised. Still fresh but the secondary and retreat notes are spectacular. Balanced, refined and long. Just getting better and better in the glass. — 6 months ago

Domaine Romaneaux-Destezet (Hervé Souhaut)

Le Petit Merle Ardéchois Merlot 2019

Wild Merlot. Has the familiar murky stemmy brick colored pulpy whole cluster profile but with some interesting goings ons underneath.

Sparked cedar, smoked jam, fruity tobacco. Lots of VA with lots of crunch. Texture is clean and a little bit slippery - acid fold nicely right into the fruit.

Was hoping for greater cohesiveness and some more interesting notes but worth a try.

Rico! Suave, no muy dulce pero se le siente el peach. Definitivamente para tomar otra vez. Coll es más rico — 8 months ago

Domaine du Mont D'or

Mont d'Or Merle des Roches Ermitage Valais Marsanne Blanche 2014

Wow, surprised and impressed. Carmel and honey up front, burst of acidity and a mineral and woody finish. Could be a Sauternes. Bought one bottle to try, will buy more for the cellar. — 3 years ago
