Château Rocher Figeac

Château Figeac

St. Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2024

97-98. Best wine tasted in the right bank.
Pure flowery and fruity aromas of incredible precision.
In the mouth it is simply perfect. Given the challenges of the vintage it is really super.
Technical but great.

Château Figeac

Petit-Figeac Red Blend 2021

A great option as a 2nd brand, still delivers a truly unique and balanced wine based on Merlot, Cab Franc and Cab Sauv., a bit less full-bodied that the usual Figeac. Loved the progression as it opens, nicely complex, very long finish and refined texture and solid mouthfeel. Never disappoints! — 3 months ago

Château Pavillon Figeac

St. Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2019

This is surprisingly good for a bargain-priced St. Emmie. Nose shows clear, ripe plummy Merlot fruit, some clay-inflected earth, some underbrush, and subtle, pleasant vegetal note. Very nice balance and mouthfeel. Not a bruiser, but more on the elegant side. Fruit, tannin, acids all nicely dancing together. I like this a lot! — 5 months ago

@Tom Casagrande, I have always had a soft spot for St. Emilion, my favorite of all the Bordeaux communes (well, at least taking pricing into account)!!

Château Cormeil-Figeac

Saint-Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2020

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of several days. The 2020 pours a deep purple color with an opaque core and a ruby rim; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of tart and ripe black and red fruits: cassis, black cherry, raspberries, plums, pencil shavings, purple flowers, licorice, iron rich earth and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ with some really nice minerals. This was a surprisingly delightful, classic, if not somewhat rustic Right Bank Bordeaux. I really dig this. Drink now through 2035. — 2 months ago

Deep red fruit, cassis, slightly dusty. Explodes at first, then recedes with time. Wow. — 10 months ago
