Medium bodied, more old school- cherry, blackberry and spice. Yes there is some oak, maybe a bit more than I’d like, but it’s not overpowering. Though I do think it detracts from the finish. Anyway, well done and enjoyable. — 3 months ago

Opened this one 24hrs ago, yet it still comes across as primary and youthful. Big wine, full bodied, baked fruit cobbler, vanilla, baking spices, ink, licorice, black pepper. Beautiful and balanced, also due to a judicious dosage of fine acidity. Long, uplifting finish with wonderful tannines - dusty and ripe.

2022. Had side-by-side with the similarly delicious Weiser-Künstler “Enkircher Steffensberg im Löwenbaum" Riesling Spatlese 2022. The Lauer has a tiny bit more complex flavor and a little more mouthwatering acidity. I would gladly enjoy either wine again over the next few decades! — 5 months ago

Wow. This brought back good memories of us visiting Hendry vineyard some 15 years ago. The wines were wonderful back then and still are. Deep garnet with dark cherry aromas. Tannins that have nicely smoothed out over the last 5 years for a wonderful finish. — 13 days ago
