This is banger of a Rosso di Montalcino! Huge nose on opening with dark fruit - primarily dark fruit and wet moss. Palate is bold and surprisingly full bodied with lots of layers - primarily fruit forward with dark cherry, moss, soft spices leaning towards cinnamon - overall more juicy acidity until late when a long smooth tannic finish emerges and lingers pleasurably. Pale lemon yellow color, blend of Trebbiano, Malvasia, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Bianco, with aromas of fruit and floral notes, aged for about 6 months, 50/50 in stainless and oak. On the palate flavors of pear, apple and lemon citrus with notes of floral and vanilla. Medium+ finish ending with fruit, floral and chalky mineral character. Nice! — 6 months ago
