Powerful and zesty. Deep and complex. Beautiful and rich… plum and gnarly fruit. Still quite young. Years ahead. — 4 months ago
Previous tasting note here was for October 2022. Aromas of menthol , plum skins and friable soil. Medium bodied palate showing a strangely sweet chocolate character amongst the savouriness. A few years left in the drinking window. Have the last one in 2+ years. — 5 months ago
Medium caramel . Quite a lot of spice, cinnamon , clove and all spice on the nose , with raisins, sultanas , touch of caramel, fudge . On the palate more ripe dried yellow fruits , with those allspice touches , quite fine balance and medium length finish with a quite light framed structure . — 4 months ago
Old-school Italian wine that is perfect for pizza. Somewhat thin and alcoholic but typical of wines served in Italian restaurants in Brooklyn when I was small. Flavorful and a perfect match to the marinara sauce of New York Patsy’s Pizzeria or Joe & Pat’s. — 2 months ago
The 1995 La Tâche Grand Cru is an outstanding wine from a decade when I don't think the Domaine was firing on all cylinders. This echoes the magnum tasted last year with those ebullient red cherries and crushed strawberry scents on the nose. As you might expect from the bottle format, it's a little more open and evolved than the magnum. The palate is beautifully balanced with fine-boned tannins, with a dash of white pepper sprinkled over the millefeuille of red fruit. It's delineated and poised towards the finish, so much so that you almost don't notice its structure. Sublime. (Neal Martin, Vinous, June 2024)

The rating is more for how excited I was to actually try a DRC in my life… it’s really not bad! Def past its prime but still drinkable. — 5 months ago

Gamey and bloody with garrigue and an iron and funk. Deep blue. Excellent. — an hour ago
