More Petite Sirah than Pinot in style and taste profile but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Grainy tannins, black olive, smoke infused red fruits. Not at the mountain top where his Syrah and Grenache are perched but still very compelling and enjoyable to those who toss aside their pre-conceptions of what PN “should” taste like. — 6 years ago
Very nice but just starting to feel its age. — 6 months ago
A little apricot, sweet without being sweet, very drinkable all by itself — 6 years ago

Julien Fayard, winemaker for Covert Estate, Azur, Taplin Cellars, Matthew Wallace and more, stopped by Fort Worth tonight to showcase a few different wines. A pleasure to meet and share wines with!
The nose on this alone had me sold. Quintessential Stag’s Leap with the deep espresso, dark chocolate, dusty aromas. Definitely some sweetness on the nose...graham cracker, smoked blueberries, and Mexican vanilla. The palate, from start to finish, is just a powerhouse of blue and black fruits mixed with baking spices, cocoa dusted dates and plum. I’d have no problem pop and pouring this. — 7 years ago

It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
Inky in color with a short purple rim.
Fruity nose of black plums, black currants, oak, licorice, light vanilla, tobacco, chocolates, coffee and black pepper.
Full-bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, cooked plums, cedar, tobacco leaf, light earth, herbs, spices and light vanilla.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and cherries.
This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Rich and fruit forward. Elegant and nicely balanced. Tangy and interesting.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after a couple of hours in the decanter.
Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years. Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years.
Good by itself as a sipping wine, and would pair nicely with a big piece of steak.
14.8% alcohol by volume.
92 points.
