A taut puzzle to start. Better once decanted and given 30-45 minutes to open. Once through that rectification (it was yesterday’s word of the day) this baby was quite the ride. Beautifully fragrant and inviting. Not deeply dark in color but still richly deep purple. The fruit is layered and comes in waves. Dark fruit, blueberries lingering finish. I expected this to be a very good CA Cab. I was wrong this was special. Lots of resonating impulses here. Loved this. It was great. — 5 months ago

Purchased during visit to the winery in September 2022. Salvestrin was pouring library wines. Three D bottling is selected from Salvestrin’s finest lots in their Dr. Crane Vineyard. Dark cherry and blackberry fruit, with toasted oak, lead pencil, vanilla and spice. Silky and elegant wine which has aged very well. — 2 years ago
High quality site, solid vintage. — 4 months ago
Dark ruby colored. Slightly muted nose, bright fresh fruit. Black and blue fruit up front, chocolate, tobacco, but of red cherry, minerality, quite complex, tannins tight at the open, needs a nice decant at this point. Bright, crisp, silky mouthfeel. Long finish. Some of my favorite wines are from Dr. Crane, and this is another one. — 5 months ago

Dr. Crane vineyard. Elegant. Tobacco, dry tannins- red plums, red currants. Wine needs a few years and will be great with age for up to 15yr. — 2 years ago
Really original wine, reminds me of the first time I tasted The Prisoner years and years ago, the original Zinfandel version that is. This is a Petit Syrah, Merlot, Cab blend with concentrated flavors and deep complexity… Need time to open and achieve balance. Cheers. — 6 months ago
Well balanced, not overly tannic. Expensive — 9 months ago
