@Tom Casagrande May have just been cork/storage issue and was not faulted. I just picked up on a light hint of sherried nuttiness on the finish. Wine was delicious!

@Austin Hohnke - I am pretty attuned to oxidation where it doesn’t belong (and it doesn’t belong in THAT segment of the Loire!) and I don’t like it. Heck, I don’t even like it in wines from other parts of the Loire that are supposed to have an oxidative character (looking at you, Savennieres!).

@Tom Casagrande Hoping my bottle or palate was a one off and that yours are drinking superbly!

Syrah 2011

Another very pretty Syrah. Had this with the Cartmell family at Zake’s fabulous Cinco de Maya feast. Last bottle☹️ — 6 years ago

David Girard Vineyard Counoise 2019

The perfect wine to wind down a long week. Bright fruit flavors of raspberry, strawberry, rhubarb, and a bit of cherry cola also. Fun and casual. 100% Counoise. 4/7/23. — 2 years ago

I don't always always drink Sancerre, but when I do... I prefer Monts Damnés. — 5 years ago

Domaine de Champarlan Menetou-Salon Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Neat wine with none of the usual green notes associated with Sauv. Blanc. Granny Smith apples with some lemon ginger and a soft yet crisp mouth feel. — 8 years ago
