Not only a new producer but a new district in my experience. The Jordan Valley is apparently an off shoot of the Derwent Valley in its upper reaches. This wine showed pear and apple aromatics which carried through to the palate which was M plus intensity with low acid. Great to drink right now - showed a beeswax note. An excellent new world Pinot Gris. Last night in Tasmania. — 3 years ago
Another standout today. Interesting chardy, sporting some Raveneau-ish cheesy funk. Rich palate, balanced by good acidity. Lactic finish. Need to revisit this cuvee, and try the Calcaire too. Hear it's good.
From the notes, this was made with great care using your standard good winemaking techniques - picked early to retain acidity and finesse, inert press, only the "heart" the juice taken, barrel ferment, controlled new oak use (25%), mix of yeast (arguably a portion of indigenous yeast), fortnightly battonage, slow full malo. — 8 years ago
Aromatic red fruits, a little closed initially. This new producer from the Derwent Valley in Tasmania has taken the Australian Show system by storm winning the James Halliday Trophy for Best Pinot Noir at Royal Melbourne 2021 and trophy for Best Pinot Noir at the National Wine Show of Australia 2021. Red and black cherry with judicious use of whole bunch. Luscious with a touch of Sous Bois but mainly showing juicy fruit at this stage in its youth. A brilliant new wine from a brilliant new producer. Difficult to procure currently. The following night similar notes of black cherry. From the Fogarty Family group of producers. — 4 months ago

See several previous Delectable notes. A dense Ruby in colour. Rich fruit - a typical Tassie Pinot - luscious and fresh - medium to full bodied. Dark Cherry on nose and palate. Fruit swallowing the oak. I could say a Shiraz drinkers Pinot, but it’s more detailed than that. My last one. Bought 3 bottles at the Pinot Shop Launceston in February 2019. — 6 months ago
Another new producer I had to come to Tasmania to discover. Kinvarra is 40 kilometres from Hobart in the Derwent Valley. Again, lovely aromatics with plum and spice to the fore. A mouth perfume of rose petals Barb thought. Some whole bunch/forest floor aromas but because of its youth the fruit quality predominates right now. A small family owned producer who would sell most of their production in Tasmania. Certainly a high silver medal from me. — 3 years ago
Medium crimson in colour. Notes of savoury oak - a trifle overdone but not unpleasant. A blend of fruit from several of Tassies Pinot regions including Derwent River, Coal River and the East Coast. A well blended Pinot showing why Tasmania is the go to area for Aussie winemakers to grow Pinot Noir. — 7 years ago

Chardonnay on limestone from cool climate Tasmania, flinty, wet stone, medium-rich, great acid balance, long, persistent finish, I have no doubt this will improve for 5-10 years, but alas, I only have this single bottle purchased at the cellar door which we hand carried back. — 2 months ago
