Château dates back to 1560, records suggesting back to 12th century making it one of oldest estates in the heart of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape AOC region near Avignon. Ruby with aromas of red fruit. Blend of about even amounts Grenache, Syrah, Mouvèdre & splash of mostly Cinsault. Aromas of berry fruits, oak & sweet spice. On the palate flavors of raspberry, cherry & blackberry, hints of oak, leather, vanilla spice & black pepper, aged in 20% new oak, complex & elegant, fine soft tannins, long finish, will age well. — 12 days ago

Light golden color. Nice hint of petrol right out of the bottle. Additional aromas and flavors of peach, nectarine, green apple, pineapple, honey and an intense lime note. A pleasant sour note on the finish. Bold, fruit forward and round with excellent mouthfeel. Crisp, but just a bit short on acidity. — 8 months ago

Began 1916, when Juan Gil Giménez, great-grandfather of the present generation, built a winery in heart of Jumilla. Blue label spent 18 months in new French and American oak barrels. Monastrell, Cab Sauv & Syrah blend (60/30/10), low yield, aromas of red berry and toasty oak. Palate shows flavors of dark berry fruits, espresso, cacao and hints of sweet spice. Round dusty tannins, well integrated with oak, medium+ finish ending with fruit and rich earthy oaky character. Nice! — a year ago

Dark ruby/black color with purple highlights. Aromas of ripe blueberries, dark plum, black raspberry, coffee and mint. The palate is fruit forward (but not over the top) featuring blackberry and ripe strawberry jam and a hint of sour cranberry, pomegranate and bittersweet chocolate. Light touch of oak on the medium-plus finish. Balanced acidity. Ripe tannins and nicely developed for such a young (just a baby) wine. — 3 months ago

Really a lovely Bordeaux style blend from Sullivan in Napa. I am biased as I spent a summer working there. Quite seamless, some nice cassis, has really come into balance. Bit of that very nice menthol laced acid refreshing note on the finish. Delicious and wonderful pairing with steaks on the grill. — 5 months ago
