Evangelho Vineyard Zinfandel 2023

Somewhat restrained fruit profile, some red fruits and while youthful, the tannins are soft and round, great freshness and acidity, this also needs cellaring, long, lingering finish, just a touch of heat (14.5% ABV) shows late, bravo to Morgan and Chris! — 2 months ago

Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir 2019

Surprisingly refined and restrained expression of Pinot noir. Paired with polenta and chicken not too overly seasoned to hide the subtlety of the wine. — 4 years ago

Evangelho Vineyard Heritage Red Blend

I have enjoyed every wine I have tasted from Morgan Peterson at Bedrock. His wines are pure, restrained, balanced and delicious. This is from a vineyard in east bay where you never hear anyone talking about, Contra Costa County, Hwy 4, really? Yes, really! It is full of red fruit and spice, nice acidity, no apparent oak but still nicely textured. This is what red blends should be. It was fantastic with a grilled steak. Worth seeking out. — 6 years ago

Pato Vineyard Heritage Red Blend

Very unusual Zin. There were hints of brambles and blackberries, but the real difference was the texture and taste—smooth as silk from the first sip straight through to the end of the finish. — 6 months ago

Areio e Vento e Amor Evangelho Vineyard Red Blend 2019

Fine light drinking red with an assortment of heirloom varietals you would see in a Sandlands release. Down the middle table red style with good acid but lighter in alcohol and tannins. — 2 years ago

Villager San Francisco Style India Pale Ale

Piney, resiny notes on the nose. Bit of citrus reminiscent of a creamsicle.

Palate is all about the hops with orange, grapefruit, and pine. Good dose of firm, slightly earthy, resiny bitterness that accentuates the already dry palate.

Bit of a throwback with the old school hop flavors and firm bitterness. Very drinkable with the lighter malt base and high attenuation. Nice stuff.

Evangelho Vineyard Carignan 2024

Big, rich, very tannic, tannins are pretty drying, this will need 4-6 years of cellaring at a minimum, longish finish, very good! — 7 months ago

@Tom Casagrande @Dave, I almost thought my Delectable account had been 86’d, as I was completely unable to get the App to open or even being able to log into my account via Safari — so, laid low for a few days and finally this afternoon was able to get in via Safari, downloaded it onto my iPad, changed password and deleted embarrassing personal details in My Profile (LOL), then deleted the App from my iPhone and re-downloaded it to my iPhone, and back to status quo (which means 24-72 hour delays in postings, both by me and those I follow), all of which annoys me, but at least I didn’t just get cancelled (well, at least not today) — not sure if I should be happy that they didn’t completely cancel me, or annoyed about whatever is going on that is delaying new posts??? Anyway, still here!! 🤔🤷😢

@Doug Powers @Dave - Occam’s Razor would say: Delectable doesn’t give a shit about the app. They’ll let it stay running on autopilot until it doesn’t. Unfortunate.

@Tom Casagrande, you may be correct, though I’m hoping that fixing some of App’s newer glitches becomes more of a priority at some point?!?! @Dave

Three Wine Company

Spinelli Vineyard Mataro 2012

Dark and thick. Inky dark fruit, blackberry, menthol, black plum skin, bramble, some oak. Tannins sit on top of the tongue. Acidity trickles down the side. There’s an initial tartness, maybe the black plum skin. The menthol and wood notes creep in with leather emerging. Blackberry and bramble round out the flavor. This is the best I’ve had from 3 Wine Co. — 5 years ago

Cruse Wine Co.

Evangelho Vineyard Carignan 2017

Michael Cruse’s wines deserve more recognition than they receive. His single vineyard bottlings are spectacular. His style is lean, fruity, and a dedicated employment of whole cluster press.

This Evangelho Carignan has a deep purple color in a medium, full body. There is bright blackberry, oak, and sandalwood. Intensely concentrated, on the serious structured side of the spectrum for the Cruse portfolio.
