Casanova di Neri

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2018

On nose, its warm and ripe fruits there, oak, black cherries, some white pepper. On palate, wine is medium bodied, fruit is still fresh despite of some aging, tannic at the end, and elevated acidity. This still need some time, try it after 2026 if you can hold it. Cheers! — 9 days ago

Tenuta Nuova Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2016

Serious wine this. Oaky with dark fruits and tobacco. Already balanced despite its youth. Definately not one of the lighter Brunellos. I loved this but drinkers seeking lithe, acidic elegance will be disappointed. — 8 months ago

Sorbaia Toscana Sangiovese Merlot

Drinking the 2007 in 2024. Light bouquet with hints of oak and earth. Deep dark fruit with medium tannins but a smooth finish. Love the oak and leather notes! Deep dark color and flavors. — 3 months ago

Rosso di Montalcino Sangiovese 2015

Surprisingly sturdy & closed. Needs at least 6h to open.
Bright cherry, some leather, a bit of dried tomato.
On the palate this is savoury, dry, a touch rustic with pronounced tannins and bright, juicy acidity. A hint of tobacco leaf & roast on the finish.
Needs a lot of time to open but paired with beef this just sings. A delight worth aging.
