Corton Renardes Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2015

Excellent, balanced, quite a lot of alcohol and tannin (some sediment in neck of the bottle) — 2 years ago

Romanée St. Vivant Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2016

A disappointing bottle. Decanting it still seemed very tight. Apart from basic burgundy flavors it had none of the prettiness associated with RSV — 3 years ago

Grands Echezeaux Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2016

No. 2 in the Chambolle Musigny, Vougeot and Flagey Echezeaux bracket. Tasted blind. Deeper than #1 Purple tinges to the mid to deep Ruby. Raspberry notes again. Latent power. Great length on the palate. There will be much to give after a long stint in the cellar. Very good. After revealing its identity I can agree that Grands Echezeaux is considered a slightly better block than Echezeaux. My highest pointed wine in this bracket just pipping the Mortet Bonnes Mares which was wine #4 — 6 years ago

Clos de la Roche Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2013

Really solid offering from Beaune. Still a hint tight but nothing a long decant will not solve. Nice acidity and hint of cherry showing through what I believe to be oak. Hubba! — 7 years ago

Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru Chardonnay 2014

Tight tight on the takeoff but opened up in orbit beautifully. I keep going back to ‘14 whites bc they’re so damn special. — 7 years ago

Montrachet Grand Cru Chardonnay 2020

Star of the night. Showed powerfully from the start. Nice level jump with great length oodles of complexity. Light honey and underlying sweetness. Can only imagine what this will be in 10 years. — 8 months ago

Yes! We got the last bottle in the restaurant and thankfully for the wallet as we would have tried talking ourselves into another otherwise!

Les Grands Épenots Pommard 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2015

The wine is singing from the glass. Medium body, high minerality, probably the best grand epenots I ever came across. Only 3 bottles in my cellar, so time to forget about this but soooo good. — 6 years ago

Latricieres-Chambertin Grand Cru 2016

Smells whole bunch but actually de stemmed. Closed. A little early for all of these 2016s. Again great palate intensity. Latricieres is considered a lesser Grand Cru but a couple of years ago we had one made by Leroy which was a standout. Cherry and earthy notes with some sap on the silky palate. A good future in store as you would expect. Roscoe from Prince said that Le Moine is renowned for the typicity of the plots from where they source grapes - not just Chambertin. — 6 years ago

Domaine Méo-Camuzet

Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru Pinot Noir

We drunk three Vougeot over the last two days. A 2014 chateau de la tour, a 2009 le moine and now a 2008! Meo Camuzet.. it only shows how tricky this cuvée is. Too big, too uneven, too many producers, always expensive. This is right in the middle, same fruit as the 2014, same roundness as the 2009. This is an outstanding Vougeot, fresh, fwd fruit and great complexity. — 7 years ago

Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2015

Plummy color tinged with tan, nose of woodsy mushroom, brown bread turned earth. Strong entry of cherry bursting through earth and cedar root. Chewy tannins show this very much alive and brimming with secret power! So good, so nice!

Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru Chardonnay 2016

Another great example of 2016’s openness. Power and complexity showing lots of minerals, asian pear, hazelnut and hints of match smoke. Finishes seemingly forever with outstanding depth. — 6 years ago

Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2014

First signs of getting ready to blow everyone away. Structured, shows potential to become rich once its acidic Pinot noir backbone fades. At this point it nears perfection for me. Showing signs of age but still with the structure, fruitiness and acidity that makes you want to drink this all year long. Vastly underrated at this point on delectacble. Everything by these guys I was given the chance to drink was fantastic Rhône to Burgundy. “Negociants” Rotem & Mounir ... given the price it’s a good thing you can enjoy this by using just your nose. — 7 years ago

Good, 2018 Peter Keller is becoming a nightmare to buy. Goes (for me) per lot of which 1/3 I really don’t want but only way to get the good stuff and only fair to the one who still gives me an allocation.

Richebourg Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2015

No. 2 in the Vosne Romanee lineup. My brief notes - Beautiful nose and palate. More intensity than No. 1. Interestingly the DRC Richebourg was described as having more “Star Power” than the DRC La Tache. Having tasted this Richebourg I can fully appreciate that comment. — 7 years ago
