@Ira Schwartz, these are honestly great wines that were low-to-mid $20s in those days, which is laughable now but seemed $$$ in those days with all the Languedoc stuff in this days in the $10-15 range. But, other than Peyre-Rose (Madame Soria, IIRC), amazing wines that were a little cheaper, d’Aigueliere single cuvees were the gold standard!!

Tasted alongside the Cote Doree, this is also nearly 100% Syrah, this cuvée seems a tad cleaner aromatically, without the gamey/brett notes, but show lovely dried redfruits, a smoky note underneath, as well as what I perceive as roasted onion skin, this seems clearly mature and at peak now, long, lingering finish, also 12.5% ABV, lovely!! — 10 days ago
