Fango Mango

Château d'Yquem

Sauternes Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 2001

Without doubt the greatest sticky I’ve ever tasted. I nosed it for 30 mins, it was so clear and bright with tropical fruit and light stony minerality. The apricot and mango were lifted over my palate by actual angels who may’ve swiped a taste on the brief journey. Wish I could’ve sat up with a last glass all night, thank you Lenny. 🙏🏼 — a day ago

Long Shadows Vintners

Poet's Leap Columbia Valley Riesling 2021

Delectable Wine
9.2

The 2021 Riesling Poet's Leap is decidedly green in character, wafting up with notes of lychee, lime zest and crushed green apple. This flows across the palate with grace, displaying a pleasant inner sweetness, as tropical citrus and saline-minerals add a lovely tension throughout. This tapers off with young mango notes accentuated by a salty flourish through the long and crisply refreshing finale. The 2021 is so balanced and refined, just 12.5% alcohol, and at just under one gram of residual sugar per liter. (Eric Guido, Vinous, March 2023) — 2 years ago

Vietti

Cascinetta Vietti Moscato d'Asti 2020

Pale lemon with aromas of pronounced ripe stone and tropical fruits and floral notes wrapped in a frizzante. On the palate flavors of peach, apricot and mango with notes of white floral. Good balance with lively acidity, medium finish ending with ripe fruit character. Nice! — 3 years ago

Orin Swift

Mannequin California Chardonnay 2018

Okay okay okay it is slightly heavy on the alcohol with 15 % and lacking some acidity to balance that out however, the nose is to die for. Tropical fruit, butter, mango, pear, so the only thing then is the PQR and for that the bottle and the label come in play. Works for me, from time to time. — 3 months ago

Is there a story behind the label?
Martijn

Martijn

@Peter van den Besselaar from lokiwine.co.uk. “When asked what came first, the wine or the label, in case of Mannequin fit was a song that came first in the case of Mannequin: Nicki Minaj’s Roman’s Revenge and the line ‘You at a standstill, mannequin’. Phinney remembers thinking about the mannequin’s purpose in representing human form to showcase clothing. ‘Clothing, much like wine, evolves over time to reflect trends, nature and creative whims, yet the mannequins always remain static’ he says in the interview with The Drinks Business”

Agro de Bazán

Granbazán Etiqueta Verde Rías Baixas Albariño

Superb nose of lime, tangerine, pineapple, mango, and peach, etc - really explodes out of the glass. Medium bodied and long on the palate with laser focused acidity and a briny sea salt finish. So, so good. — 3 years ago

Ossian

Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y León Verdejo 2015

A six-year-old old vine Verdejo. Tastes way more aged than I expected… Dried mango, apricot, strong minerality, salinity, Marcona almond, caramel, dried herbs as well. High levels of linear acidity, full bodied but not fat. 14.5%. Grippy phenolics coating the mouth. — 3 years ago

Château Guiraud

Sauternes Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 2009

NOSE: apricot jelly…pineapple…vanilla cookie.

TASTE: peach, mango, apricot, pineapple, vanilla cream, caramel. Cooked peach (like canned peach juice) lingers — lengthy finish. Almost over the top! 93.

Illahe

Estate Willamette Valley Grüner Veltliner 2021

Not much aroma on this one. Lime and tropical flavors, good acidity. Fermented in acacia barrels, and you can taste that. No guava or mango flavors in this vintage — 2 years ago

Château Carbonnieux

Pessac-Léognan White Bordeaux Blend 2016

Opened another recently, legendary wine, said that in the 18th century was introduced to Sultan of Constantinople's palace b/c of its clarity and called "mineral water from Carbonnieux", defying Islamic law. Pale lemon with pronounce aromas of tropical and stone fruits with herb notes. On the palate flavors of melon, mango, apple, green herbs and a crisp mineral edge. Medium+ length, balanced acidity, ending with a fruit, citrus mineral character. Nice, aging well. — 3 years ago
