Massi di Mandorlaia Riserva Morellino di Scansano Sangiovese 2019

This is nice. Blind I would have guessed Chianti Classico. The nose shows cherry, oak, tar, autumn leaves, black tea, coffee beans, a bit of meat juice. The palate is juicy and silky, with a nice cherry note shining through and through, some oaky touches, some meaty, savoury notes too along with that black tea thing. There is width, there is some matter too, and the silky mouthfeel turns into a massive tannic wall in the rear, that disrupts completely the entire mouthfeel. The finish is long, cherry and meat juice forward, sliding upon a nice, drying tannic layer for a good while. A tiny bitter note shows up in the very end. This is serious stuff, pretty classical in style when I compare it with chianti classico examples that I have tasted. I like that ! — 3 days ago

Barolo del Commune di Serralunga d'Alba Nebbiolo 2019

Hard to believe this is a village level Barolo. A beautiful nose before black cherry and intense earth spices a long finish. A great pairing with beef cheeks and mashed potatoes — 19 days ago

Massi di Mandorlaia Morellino di Scansano Sangiovese 2021

A fan of Morellino di Scansano, nice Sangiovese from Tuscany, loved the cherry and cranberry notes and taste with a slightly hint of tangerine, which makes this red a more acidic that the usual northern Tuscany ones. It is warm, approachable and super easy to drink. It’s already in its prime time. Lovely. — 3 months ago

Vino Rosso 2022

Interesting blend from the Barbaresco. I know it’s Nebbiolo based, but it very much tastes like a Pinot to me. Crisp, light, balanced. Great value, and great food wine. — 4 months ago

Initial notes of earthy blue cheese that morphed into dark cherry as it opened up. Drank alongside balada and grilled vegetables. — 8 months ago

La Historia Di Italia Merlot Sangiovese 2021

This Italian IGT from Central Tuscany is truly a great representation of Merlot and Sangiovese blend is all about. What a great combination, this wine opens up with a unique aroma of red fruits, baked dark cherries and chocolate. Very soft tannins, smooth to the very end. Long but over lingering finish. Loved its balanced acidity and mouthfeel. — 3 months ago
