This is a very tasty sparkling wine from California.
Yellow in color with a golden tint.
On the nose lemons, green and yellow apples, spices, light herbs, minerals, earth, yeast, light grapefruits and white pepper.
Medium plus in body and lightly creamy, with high acidity and small bubbles.
Dry on the palate with limes, lemons, grapefruits, green and red apples, yeast, spices, sea salt, minerals and light earth.
Medium on the finish with tangy lemons and sea salt.
This is a really nice surprise. Tangy and enjoyable by itself. Easy drinking and nicely balanced. Feels more like a Crémant from Burgundy.
Showing nice complexity on the nose and the palate, which surprised me. A great value for this price point.
I had it by all by itself on the beach. Can't beat that.

Enjoying on our 18-year anniversary and reminiscing about our amazing visit with the Ferrer family last year! — 4 years ago
I am loving the colors..beautiful ruby red fades into some bricking leading to a clear rim.
Excited to find a 10 year Pinot at my local grocery wine dept! 🤙 Cork was bit of a challenge, surprisingly no sediment.
Nothing to jump up & down about but I am enjoying where this wine is ...in it's evolution. Favors a chill, presents w/ baking spices (cardamom) vanilla and raspberry preserve. — 4 years ago
A Syrah from Mendoza...I had my doubts, but we were tasting some great wines at this winery, Malbec and Cab Franc. It is amazing what some of the wineries in Mendoza are doing with Cab Franc. Back to the Syrah, we didn’t taste it but they urged me to get it as they thought I be surprised. And I was! Given the heat and the stress in Mendoza I thought it be drinking more like a Shiraz. It didn’t. It was vibrant, full bodied, spicy and potent tannins that evolved in your mouth giving it great complexity. Dark unripe blackberry infused with pipe tobacco. — 5 years ago

STORAGE is everything.
Correct storage does not magically enlighten all wines, but it enables you to wait until such time that wines crafted with proper parts and proper technique will offer you a higher level of enjoyment.
Our final bottle of this 2003 vintage, purchased in May 2006 for $31 as Achával-Ferrer was beginning their ascension to greatness, with pricing to match.
Decanted 4H.
Similar notes to prior experiences:
Nose has ripe plum, graphite, dried black cherry, dried tart cherry, old leather, dried black currant, slight eucalyptus, dark chocolate, stewed raisin, mashed blackberry, faint chalkboard dust and dried rose.
Palate has sweet prune, semi-sweet chocolate, dried black cherry, sweet-roasted red pepper, dried boysenberry, briar and dry earth. Fine tannins, rich and round the on the finish.
Stellar show on our finale of the vintage...Looking forward to the 2004's. I previously stated this bottle could likely make a 20th birthday in proper storage, looks like it can only make a ~19th birthday in this cellar.

Let it breathe, and you’re rewarded with a berry forward wine, i find it more medium bodied vs full. Nice sipper, may want something bigger with beef — 4 months ago
