Tasted this at the property & bought three & three of the 14 Moose. It is even better than I envisioned at this stage and will only continue to evolve to something even more grand.
The nose shows a little paraffin wax at first with gentle, beautiful, elegant floral, ruby, ripe, fruits of; blackberries, dark cherries, black plums, black raspberries, plum, baked strawberries & hints of raspberries. A weave of faint; molasses, brown sugar & dark chocolate, some of the sexiest, gently layered baking spices of; cinnamon, clove, even lighter cinnamon & vanillin, hints of sweet tarriness, blossoming tree sap with a touch of bark, melted caramel, amazing, caressing, Marilyn Monroe, mid, dark spice, steeped fruit teas, limestone volcanics, a little dry, crush rocks, black licorice with gorgeous, candied, ruby, florals that are fresh & slightly withering; dark, red, blue that are set in violets & quiet lavender.
The body is wet, supple, rich and as good as it gets. She is flat out gorgeous with perfect viscosity. A little paraffin wax with gentle, beautiful, elegant floral, ruby, ripe, fruits of; blackberries, dry dark cherries, black plums, black raspberries, plum, baked strawberries & dry cranberries & hints of raspberries. A weave of faint; molasses, melted, brown sugar & dark chocolate, some of the sexiest, gently layered baking spices of; cinnamon, clove, even lighter cinnamon & vanillin, hints of sweet tarriness, blossoming tree sap with a touch of pine bark, melted caramel, dark cola, amazing, caressing, Marilyn Monroe, mid, dark spice with perfect, soft heat, steeped fruit teas, haunting here & there fresh herbaceousness, understated eucalyptus & mint, Christmas pudding over a touch of Christmas fruit cake, limestone volcanics, a little dry, crush rocks, black licorice with gorgeous, candied, ruby, florals that are fresh & slightly withering; dark, red, blue that are set in violets & quiet lavender. The acidity is simply insane. The finish falls into fantasy. It’s; sexy, gorgeous, elegant, round, rich, the definition of balance that persists for minutes falling on to a spice ending.
Most interesting Pinot of the year(s).
This will add a couple of points in 5 years.
The one is another bottling of Christmas Magic. Shots around the house on Christmas Eve-Eve. Yup, I even have a Wine Santa to enjoy wine with my Wine Snowman.
Merry Christmas Eve-Eve. 🎄🎁🎅❄️🌟⛄️
@Jason and Jennie Thank you for the introduction to DR Stephens. The 14 Moose is still better & will further stun one day but, their 15 Pinot is outstanding now. We will hold our other two bottles of their 15 another 3-5 years before opening. The first 14 Moose in 2026.

On the nose; dark cassis, blackberries, blueberries, dark cherries, black plum, black raspberries, caramel, dark, rich soil, dry stones, caramel, dry stems, fresh violets & dark, fresh & dry florals. The body is full, round, lush, thick with nicely resolved, soft, velvety tannins. It glides in the over the palate. Creamy, lush, thick; blackberries, dark cherries, black raspberries, black plum and poached strawberries bring up the rear of the fruits. Mocha chocolate, caramel, dark soil, stones, steeped tea, crushed rocks, bramble, suede leather, liquid violets, fresh dark florals & acidity is soft and perfect. The finish is flat out pure elegance. Creamy fruits and beautiful complimentary soft, semi-sweet earthiness. This is my first of bottle of 10. I'll have another each year for the next nine years. Enjoy noting the changes in the bottle. It's drinking beautifully and has at least another 10 plus years of good drinking ahead. Photos of; Clerc Milon, their barrel room, private tasting room and our friend Jean who is their Winemaker since 09. Prior to that he was the Assistant Winemaker at Opus One for 10 years. He is perhaps the nicest person we've met. We are not the only ones to say that. He was nice enough to allow us to work the 12 Clerc harvest and scheduled a dinner for us at Chateau Mouton Rothschild. An amazing dinner accompanied by 76 Mouton out of 6L. Andy Warhol did the label. He also managed for us to have lunch with the Baroness the next day where 82 Mouton was served. May she RIP. Sadly, she passed away just short of two years later. The Clerc vineyards are adjacent to Chateau Mouton Rothschild. Love the two Baffoons on their label. Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there! Cheers. 🍷 — 9 years ago

2021/12/15-16. This was a little flat and tight on opening, with oak showing, but with air some perfumed, wild fruit aromas broke through. A little stretched on the palate but quite enjoyable. — 4 years ago
I picked up a case in 16 of the 12 cab from wine access....opened and let breathe for 1+ hour. It started out lush, rich, and complex. It was the perfect companion for prime beef filet. However, after dinner, this wine just fell off the cliff. It became flat w no structure. — 6 years ago
What an incredible second day here in Napa. Jesus started us off with an amazing tasting at Davies/Schramsberg, Crocker & Starr gave us our cab franc fix, Montagu & Addax put on a double tasting, and Hourglass knocked it out of the park at the end of the day! I won’t post each wine we tasted, but I’ll highlight the best from each spot.
We are all die hard Cab Franc fans, so a stop here was a must after @Carl Fischer introduced me to this cab franc last year. First, the property itself is flat out gorgeous. Quaint and quiet. Awesome history here as well.
This cab franc is a BABY. New release. Red and black fruits are still fighting to take over...didn’t get much blueberry off of this like I did the ‘12, but age plays a part. Violet, lavender, black truffle and a touch of spice. A benchmark for Napa Cab Franc, alongside Arnyca and Detert. The Post 1 bottle is their current release (2013) Cabernet that is their purest expression of Cabernet from the Estate. This is serious Cabernet...tannic, structured and could compete with top end mountain wines. — 8 years ago

Daishichi Raden 2011 Kimoto Junmai Ginjo. Would not have guessed it’s been aged for 12 years and then realistically aged another 2 years before I got it. Rich, soft, bordering on sweet. I would say it matches the other Kimoto styles I’ve had with great flavor and stronger rice flavors for me. I’d assume the lack of acid is due to the age than the style. 2011 vintage with 12 years of aging. Sake Meter Value:
+3
Alcohol : 15%
Acidity : 1.5
Rice Variety : Gohyakumangoku
Rice polishing ratio 58% (super flat polished rice)
Yeast type Daishichi Yeast
Ingredients/raw materials Rice (domestic)/Rice malt (domestic)

@delectable this is neve yarak winery's rose 2019
i was lucky to join granache plantings in neve yarak winery - a small boutique winery in central israel with vinyards on flat land.
hard laboring planting the american root stocks left my leg muscles hurting for a few days but every time ill pass the close by highway road I'll enjoy the memory. and i got this rose...
65% carignan
35% grenache
vineyards are 39 years old.
oak fermentation.
12% ABV
pale pink 👀
some greeness and funk first. followed by unripe strawberry and raspberry, lemon and grapefruit peel👃
medium body.
medium + acidity.
creamy red fruit and citrus with added funk, green leaves variety and some dust 👄
medium 🎯
pleasent tartness with an edge. very drinkable. balanced and complex.
lovely high powered rose.
feels right.
ok vfm (110 nis or a few hours of hard work). better value with imported rose's but this is an enjoyable local choice.
paired well with ok-ish delivery pizza. one mushrooms topped with terrible 'tartufo oil' and the second with caramelised onions and balsamic vinaigrette. — 6 years ago

Pinotman /// Andreas
Another incredible Burgh. This needs about 12 hours to open up under an argon atmosphere. Before that an 8.7 quite boring and flat . Very dark / super refined cherry notes - Kirsch Brandy aka Schladerer from Staufen/Baden. Port wine on the nose. For Chambolle - Musigny made in 2005 this had too much fruit but now ultra refined tannins - and i hate the word ultra smooth…. — 3 months ago
