Vintage 2004 | beautiful smell with flint, cedar, Scottish pipe tobacco and velvety taste. No need to keep this, for lovers of ripened wine, beautiful tertiary tones. Paired with horse fillet, polenta with porcini mushrooms, broccoli, bell pepper and yellow courgette. — 3 years ago
Vintage 2015 | Chenin Blanc that is very useful to combine with food. I drank this with 1) rillettes, 2) prunes with bacon from grill, 3) charcuterie. With the prunes it was perfection. Smell with flint, peaches and a hint of papaya, great acidity, but off dry why it combines so good with different foods. Nice to drink a wine from this small appellation with so much potential. — 6 years ago
A lunch for the folks who have been extremely generous and influential in my wine journey. Salon always needs 20 + years from vintage. As expected no where near maturity.A shy nose of apple , pear and flint. On the palate more round than linear. Acidity is very good but not as assertive as some previous vintages .A coiled spring. — 3 years ago
Light gold, not showing much age in the glass. Heavy weight like motor oil. Exotic and exciting nose. Notes of citrus, sweet apricot, wet river stone, some flint and petrol, some tan spice and some ripe peach. Sappy fruit in the mouth balanced against the still-strong acidity and structure. Drinking well now, especially with 5 hours of air, this has a long life in front of it and is just hitting its stride. Love the 99 Leflaives! — 5 years ago
Popped and poured. Light gold, looks young and bright. Pretty nose. Notes of citrus, flint, white clay and some spice. Has it all going on. Fresh. With more air time I'm sure this would have blossomed but the team was thirsty and this went quickly. Bottles like this one can certainly improve with 5-10 more years of age. — 6 years ago
Mineral mania! This stinks so good and slaps so hard of smoky flint shaped into a dagger someone rounded the edges off on. It doesn’t cut like a knife but teases the tongue with a sparkling (except it’s not) gleaming sensation cuts then softens then gives one last teasing punch toward the (god help me I’m about to use the term “back palate” I tend to hate dividing my palate) back palate. Oh yes it does. Goddess DAMN that’s good. — 7 years ago

Ripe pineapple, golden straw color, has some middle weight tannins but light on the finish. Green apple, pomelo pith, flint, mineral, tropical fruit. Great wine for a meal at the Arden Waikiki. — 6 months ago
Pop and pour. A majestic lite gold color. On the nose: crisp apples, lemon, almonds, floral, and honey. Taste: creamy, beautiful texture and nice acidity wine with apple, pear, lemon zest, saline, flint, and a minerally lime peel medium plus finish. YUM! Maturing gracefully and time to go. — 7 months ago

Wow! What a presence.
N:chiseled lemon flint, ( I’ll have to research this vineyard). Some lemon candy, trace of wood, lanolin.
P: Lovely viscous texture, mouth filling, waxy( lanolin) pale grapefruit w/o the bite, flinty, bursts out as you drag air across your palate.Lots of inner mouth energy. Lemon w a steel spine.
This will be gone in a flash.

Rather muted nose of oyster shell, lemon and flint - awesome evolution on the palate fatty in the middle with a lingering finish. Fantastic. Competes at GC level - this one feels a bit quieter at the start, but its lingering finale completes a perfect picture. Aerate. — 6 years ago
Love this wine. Peaches, lemon and lime. A bit of flint. Good acid. — 7 years ago
Sipping Fine Wine
A blend of Corvina Veronese 45%, Corvinone 45%, Rondinella 5% & Oseleta 5%, deep Ruby with aromas of dried dark fruits, spice and herb, about 120 days of appassimento. On the palate flavors of ripe cherry and raspberry with notes of fig, cacao, flint and mineral tones. Soft smooth tannins well balanced with acidity on a long spicy finish. Will continued to get better with age. Sustainable. — 5 months ago
