Antinori family of Florence, one of the world's oldest & most distinguished wine producers, lived in Tuscany since the 14th century. One of the first "Super Tuscans," blend of 85% Sangiovese, 10% Cab Sauv & 5% Cab Franc. Deep Ruby with aromas of black berry fruit aromas with dried herbs and sweet spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry and cherry with cacao, tar, mushroom, vanilla and spice. Fine graceful tannins, long finish, well balanced, savory ending with oaky and earthy mineral tones. My first experience with this producer. Popped and poured. A sort of pink salmon color with persistent mousse. Delicate red fruit and lightly toasted bread with strawberry jam on the nose. On the palate, peaches and raspberry. There’s good acid. The finish is dry and long. Great value. No disgorgement data. — 4 years ago

Medium lemon color, aromas of stone and citrus fruits with yeasty notes, significant Pinot Noir in blend. On the palate flavors of apple and pear with lemon citrus zest and floral notes. Fine bubbles, light mousse, medium finish ending with fruit, citrus and yeasty biscuit character. Pair this with shrimp cocktail. — 8 months ago
