‘Cowboys Cuvée’ Red wine blend says the label. Pours a dark and stormy red of blood. Smells like wet stones and gauze. B.O. too. Hint something herbal. Flavors are chewy and fresh. Herbal streak. Fresh basil, mint, marjoram, etc. Plenty of tannins. Cherry cola and fresh blackberry too. This is a pretty standard Mertiage type CA fancy red. Checks in at 14.0% ABV so that seems like a mature grape and a long hangtime. Nice stuff. Big, lush and fairly complex. Hint too much spice box and just a bit of the dreaded vanilla oak sauce though. Otherwise excellent stuff. — 3 years ago
Stone fruit and slate with a touch of grapefruit. Brighter than many French Sauvignon Blancs; very tasty! — 4 years ago
Inky garnet in the glass. Smoky bing cherry, clove and baking spices on the nose. Silky on the palate with vanilla and ripe raspberry, very fine tannins. Perfect pairing with Salmon in a Honey, Soy, Garlic and Dijon glaze! — 4 years ago
I tried this vintage 4 years ago. It is still tart and dry with lively fruit and high acid. The nose exhibits cranberry, almond, American oak (coconut), and cinnamon. The palate reveals cranberry, oak, cedar, aniseed, leather, tart strawberry, and tart cherry. Medium plus tannins, medium plus alcohol, and excellent zippy (high) acid. — 4 years ago

Deep ruby color on this Carmel-by-the-Sea Super Tuscan. Aromas of blackberry, black currant and dried herbs. BlackBerry on the palate along with some blueberry notes, nice oak on the finish. — 5 days ago
