Mercury Head Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2007

Testing quite nice after 17 years. This 2007 vintage from this noted California cab producer was quite impressive. The harmony between tannins and fruits still very much evident. I might even guess that it may have a few more years on it. Nice treat. The last of my Mercury Head. Sigh….. — 3 days ago

Nice full bodied without harsh tannins. Blackberry & ripe plum overtones. Very nice. — 6 months ago

Primavera Vineyard Pinot Noir 2015

See 4 previous notes on Delectable for the 2015 Primavera. This is my last bottle. The whole bunch stalky elements have toned down in the last few years. More balanced with the red fruits. Perhaps that was Steve Flamsteed’s plan and it needed to be cellared for at least 9 years.? — 3 months ago

Tarraford Vineyard Chardonnay 2017

See previous notes here in 2018 and 2019. An excellent Chardonnay but probably prefer the Applejack and Sexton Vineyards for Chardonnay. — 4 months ago

Giant Steps

Yarra Valley Chardonnay 2021

Brief notes - this is the standard Chardonnay - the individual Cuvées are more expensive. This was most impressive for the standard, reflecting the excellent vintage in most parts of Australia including the Yarra Valley. Citrus more than stone fruit. Easy to drink. — 6 months ago

Very strong vanilla, then caramel and fruity sweetness. — 3 months ago

Sexton Vineyard Pinot Noir 2018

Brief notes. Sweet red fruits - raspberry and strawberry. Whole bunch influence. An excellent Yarra Valley Pinot Noir with a proven track record but at the end of the day Applejack Vineyard is marginally in front of Sexton Vineyard IMO. — 3 months ago

Applejack Vineyard Pinot Noir 2022

Our most favorite Pinot when we traveled Yara Valley last November. Intense vibrancy, fresh raspberry infused with cherry and carried by spice earth. All in perfect harmony. Love it!! — 6 months ago
